I really liked George's Charleston. It was a modern take on one, it was quirky, different and those ones appeal to me, very fun and it wasn't too cringey, plus I love the Song- ''We Speak No Americano'' by Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP, always such a catchy tune most remembered by the iconic Dance from The Inbetweeners :D .

Plus George was channelling his best inner Will energy, so he couldn't have been any different than that, sorry CRH!

I mean it's gone pretty viral online, so I wouldn't say this is an unpopular opinion :D it's coming up to 250k views in YouTube in less than 2 days.

But yeah, it was one of the most memorable routines of this series IMO. Lewis and Amber may have got 40 for their charlestons, but this one will be just as remembered, if not even more, because of how memorable and unconventional it was.

Holly Valance did a Charleston with Artem in her Series to the same Song, it was such clever choreography by Artem, again modern twist and very quirky, fun, entertaining and Holly was always so laidback with her Dancing and didn't think the Charleston would suit her, but it did and she was took by surprise herself when she got 34 for it.

Im not getting this comments that George doesnt care and doesnt want to be there.

He does really care not everybody has to be in your face.

He is one of those rare people who is grateful for everything and he deserves his place on the final.

    Agreed.

I don't dislike George, he's a nice guy, i've just preferred other Celebs and their partnerships this Series, he's obviously given it everything, has a good dance partnership/bond with Alexis.

He's a laidback, shy, quieter, reserved personality that isn't in your face all the time and that's been mistaken for that he doesn't care, he does care, has worked hard like everyone else and deserves the credit, he's a deserved Finalist, whilst I prefer the other two, if he wins it'll be deserved because he will have been the GBP choice and I respect that.

If pro's aren't up to it they need to get rid, imho Eddie had more potential that Karen wasted & maybe with Harry as well.

Balvinder never improved and was overscored every week. Julian's choreography was very basic too. That salsa was not up to standard for a semi final. Balvinder's best moment was the instant dance challenge. Her and Julian seemed to have a genuine bond though which was lovely.

I'm going to say it....I'm really not fond of Karen's dancing. And Carlos gets on my nerves.

    ****,leaves the room****

I agree. Karen's dancing seems 'rough round the edges' for me - unpolished. I can't think of another way to describe it. She does some good spins.

Possibly unpopular opinion. I like Carlos, enjoy his choreography and have no problem at all that's he's emotional.

    I love Carlos.

The pros don't choreograph the salsas - how often does this need to be said?

Take as old as time - when a pro someone likes gets a good routine from an outside choreographer, they get all the praise without acknowledgement for the extra help, and when it’s a pro someone dislikes they get all the blame as if that pro could’ve overridden the whole thing.

It’s like how people have used George’s Salsa, AT and now his Charleston to keep forcing this narrative that Alexis is mainly interested in showcasing herself/dancing around him the whole time - which isn’t even true to begin with, but also she literally didn’t choreograph those dances :D

He has definitely become my second favourite male pro ( after Johannes ).

I think we are at risk of becoming the place where Carlos fans hang out 😆 Count me as another who loves him and rates him as a pro, teacher and choreographer. Loved him from the get go and he crafted some fab routines for the talented Molly Rainford in his first series.

I'll keep saying that Stacey Dooley was a deserving Winner❤️, she was the Public choice whether you like it or not.

Like how I have preferred some others over the eventual Winners of their Series, but respected the Public choice with gritted teeth and gracipusly even if I had a different opinion😃.

Same! He's an underrated pro. He deserves a win, which I think Karen will do.

My unpopular opinion is that I cannot believe anyone thinks Janette is improving. She is worse than ever.

These cannot both be unpopular opinions as they are diametrically opposite.

My unpopular opinion is that I am duty bound (as a professional pedant) to point this out.

My job as a professional nothing is to point out they can both be unpopular, but probably in varying degrees.
2 things can be true at the same time (which might be an unpopular opinion).

Were this the Unpopular Fact thread I would applaud the pedantry, but it's the Unpopular Opinion thread :)

    My unpopular opinion is this….

I haven’t really enjoyed this year’s series as much as I have in previous years, *but* the two new pros have been the absolute best thing about it.

Alexis and Julian are fantastic additions.

I know people were criticising Julian at first for Bal landing in the dance-off fairly early, but as he said, it took 6 Dance-offs and a perfect score to take her out. I mean yeah he’s had a few teething problems as new pros often do, but altogether he’s been a wonderfully supportive partner and long may his run on the show continue. I really like his chill and laid-back, whilst subtly sarcastic Aussie personality. I think he’s fitted in to the Strictly universe pretty seemlessly. Definitely a good pick as a new pro, and I’m quite glad they went somewhat left field and that we didn’t get any of the usual rumoured suspects whose names get bandied about every time a vacancy comes up.

Alexis has also created a wonderful bond with George, they’re very entertaining together- I like the yin and yang they have going on- George is very much a bit of a socially awkward guy (not hating, just an observation and I’m sure he’d say the same himself) albeit a lovable one, whilst Alexis is a fireball of energy, and has her own unique character within the Strictly lineup, and for the most part, her choreography has been very very good- yeah she’s had a couple of misses here and there but they all do… I do think the fans of one benched pro in particular have been very unnecessarily hostile towards Alexis for no reason other than the perceived “stealing a slot” (which is ridiculous, and plus even if these people do feel that way, makes no sense to blame Alexis herself- it’s the producers who currently have an uneven split of female to male pros- 11-8 this year if you remove Gorka from the equation), but as far as Alexis herself goes she’s managed to get her debut celeb to the final on her first go, so that’s not too shabby. I’m still not quite sure whether she’ll be here long-term but we’re lucky to have her for the time being.

So altogether, whilst I’ve not really been the biggest fan of this year’s series as a whole , I think the two new pros have been wonderful, and I think it kind of reassures us that Strictly hasn’t lost their gift when it comes to selecting new pros.
