This is the latest in a series of similar (or they could even be described as related) polls.

The poll commences with the nineteenth ever UK chart topper and then has nine incremental steps of 100 so that the ten entries are as follows:-

The 19th, 119th, 219th, 319th, 419th, 519th, 619th, 719th, 819th and 919th UK #1 singles.

Please vote for your favourite.

You may award half a vote to your second favourite.

You may also award half a vote to your third favourite.

Please feel free to comment on one or more of the poll entries.

    Such A Night - Johnnie Ray (1954) (19th ever UK #1)
    A vote for Johnnie Ray.

    Half to Slade.
    Half to David Bowie.

    From favourite to least favourite:-

    1) Such A Night
I absolutely love this vintage track by Johnnie Ray, which can best be described as being almost but not quite rock ‘n’ roll. With its raw energy and passionate performance style it was a significant precursor to the soon to be burgeoning genre.
Of all the entries so far in this series of polls from the years 1952, 1953 and 1954 this one is undoubtedly my favourite.

    2) Mama Weer All Crazee Now
Some people had a misspent youth, but it would seem that Slade had a misspelt youth!

    3) Let’s Dance
This was David Bowie’s third and final solo #1 in the UK. It’s the only one of the three that’s not about Major Tom, and the only one of the three that I don’t consider to be a Bowie classic. For me the song is good but not great.

    4) Surrender
I would imagine that back in the early sixties there were many young women (and, perhaps, quite a few young men too) who were more than willing to surrender to Elvis.

    5) Take A Chance On Me
This one is sure to poll very well because many people think that Abba were the best thing since sliced bread. Of course, many other people think that they were the worst thing since stale bread. I fall into neither category. My opinion of Abba is that they were a decent group but nothing more, and my opinion of “Take A Chance On Me” is that it’s a decent track but nothing more.

    6) Get Away
Georgie Fame had three UK chart toppers in the sixties. For me this one is definitely the weakest of the three, although I still quite like it.

    7) Back For Good
You won’t often hear me praising Take That, because I am not a big fan of their music. However, I will concede, albeit somewhat reluctantly, that this particular Take That track is not bad at all.

    8) First Time
Most power ballads don’t really appeal to me and this particular power ballad certainly doesn’t.

    9) Blame It On The Weatherman
This track required a listen on Youtube. My verdict? It’s bloody awful. Suffice to say I am not bewitched by the music of B*Witched.

    10) Hero
Once again a listen on Youtube was required. My verdict? It’s also bloody awful, but it does have 603 million views on Youtube, so what do I know?

Half to B*Witched and ABBA. Onion, Blame It On The Weatherman is a terrific song.

    Take A Chance On Me -  Abba (1978) (419th UK #1)
A rare vote for a 70s song for me.

I can tolerate the Bowie song and thats the best I can say about it. The Robin Beck song starts off OK but seems to tail off for me.

So, I'll give half a mark to David Bowie and a very rare 90s half mark to Take That. Back for good is one of their better efforts.

The win goes to Johnny Ray(my mother would approve, one of her favourites) a glorious romp of a tune
Halves to Bowie & Take That

    As for the rest
    Decent efforts from
    ABBA
    Slade
    & Georgie Fame

    Not so decent efforts from
    Elvis
    & Enrique

In the better than the rest of their efforts but still a bit rubbish department
    B*Witched

In the hoping she’ll spontaneously combust during the screechy bits department
    Robin Beck

By default because it's the only one in this poll I actually like and even then it's not a song I'd ever enthuse about.

No half marks this round sadly and I will leave it there because going through most of the others would just be a relentless barrage of negativity and we don't need that at Christmas. :D

Bowie wins this, with half to ABBA and Take That 3rd. Though none of their songs in this list are those artist’s best work by a long way

Although not exactly Bowies best track, Let's Dance is still brilliant, which shows the standard of his back catalogue.

Half a vote to Back For Good. I'm not a fan of boy bands, but this song is arguably one of the best any boy band has ever released.

    Let’s Dance - David Bowie (1983) (519th UK #1)
Fairly easy one for me - Thought it's not Bowie's finest hour, I remember buying it back in my teens, along with 'Modern Love' and 'China Girl' - the Let's Dance album really was my entry point to discovering Bowie's career and buying all the classic 70's albums.

Halves as well for Slade and Abba.
