It's that time of year again. The last of the fireworks in the neighbourhood are being set off (at random times in the evening often by local yobs but occasionally late displays for busy families), Mariah's defrosting process is well underway, the TV and streaming services are awash with Christmas ads and artists are starting to hint at Christmas songs they are releasing this year, which will be soon forgotten because our corrupt system that only plays the same 15 Christmas songs every year and ignores these breakthroughs.

But nevertheless we can still enjoy them together here!

Kylie has released a new Christmas song imaginatively titled "XMAS" - which is exclusive to Amazon music, probably to keep some of the Neighbours fans who will be boycotting the service when the show ends at Christmas. You don't need to pay to stream it!
Check out XMAS (Amazon Music Original) by Kylie Minogue on Amazon Music

You can pre save Finnish gothic singer Tarja's upcoming "Score For a Dark Christmas" album now, it's out in 25 days from now.

Alison Limerick - Where Love Lives

Yes, it's not a Christmas song but by association with the John Lewis advert, I'm very much here for seeing Alison back in the UK top 40 with this classic.

Not really fussed with the Labrinth version. It's just another run-of-the-mill uptempo track turned into another ballad which is the trademark of John Lewis. It works in context with the advert but without the visuals, I get nothing from this version.

Are any of the new ones super catchy, though? Catchy enough to still be enjoyed by the masses decades later.

    Wheres Ladbaby?

Shoved in the sausage roll oven and burnt to a crisp hopefully. My ears have only just recovered from those nightmares.

This Kylie XMAS song is catchy after a few listens but being an Amazon exclusive is both a gift and a curse. Alexa's will play it when asked 'play some Christmas songs' but then millions who use Spotify and Apple Music are excluded.

I was listening to an every christmas number 1 type show on one of the music channels and they got to the LadBaby dominance of the charts. I still cant quite believe they took that chart record of most Christmas #1's from The Beatles and now hold the record as the most succesful christmas act in history lol

I know ladbaby did it for charity an fair play, but the Beatles and spice girls i mean there are no words. I know the spice girls aren't for everyone but the Christmas no1s are their strongest songs.

    Wheres Ladbaby?

They stopped when they bloody stole that most xmas no1s in a row record from the beatles and the spice girls which still pisses me off especially when the guy said 'to be compared to the beatles and spice girls', it annoyed the hell out of me. two groups that worked hard, i dont know about the beatles but spice girls wrote the songs even though spice girls haters always like to deny it, and earned that record taken by a couple singing about sausage rolls, i dont care if it was for charity, its not really fair to take that record from 2 groups that worked their butts off. Then what annoyed me even more is they got the record then funnily enough the very next year decide to stop doing them. like whey we got the record, bye

    I am glad they stopped!

Kylie Xmas is good and now Cher has released a new Christmas single Christmas Is Here which is a grower.

This Christmas clip is of John Foster who was this year's American Idol runner up. This performance was during his 8th Grand Ole Opry appearance which was this past Sunday night. His 9th appearance is scheduled for January 9th if he isn't added to the lineup of an earlier day. Anyway, to me, he owns every song that he chooses to sing, and in my opinion, this may be his best ever Opry performance. :):):)

God bless you and John always!!!

Holly (a girl who checks the Opry schedule every day for his name)

P.S. His Opry debut was June 7th and so he did eight appearances in just six months. I pray that a membership invitation is only just around the corner if the Opry powers that be keep adding him to the schedule. :):):)

Kylie just released the new video to XMAS - it's now number one in the album chart and this could well be Christmas number one unless Kate Winslet swoops in and takes it.

I am in east TN but thank you for the link. I didn't watch that show this year because none of my favorites were a part of it. I did see the one that happened last week as well named A Nashville Christmas because Trace Adkins was a part of it. :):):)

God bless you and him always!!!

Holly (a day one fan of Trace)

P.S. I hope that my being from the states is okay. I've been coming to this forum for thirteen years now.
