Chris Carson coming back 5 days a week in April, an updated app launching next week, LASER Hot Hits launches playing music from the '80s to today, and a new LASER Hot Hits Alexa Skill.
Mm, not the original Americanl LLH jingles, I hear a English voice over dude. Don't understand why they do this because Laser 558 have the original jingles on air.
Nope, looks like it's the SW pirate Laser Hot Hits.
They mention DAB on their website but no mention of being on Irish DAB+ mutliplex.
Their Facebook page, which has regular posts, has few mentions of DAB, last time was in March 2024 when they said the DAB transmissions were in the Canary Islands. They are on shortwave 6205 or nearby, unlicensed bradcaster, their shortwave transmitters in the past were in Ireland and the UK.
Steve Bannister has the DSP licence for Laser558, no mention yet on their Facebook page about Laser Hot Hits.

Apologies, just checked the Laser558 Facebook page again and see it was announced there March 21st as has been posted earlier.
Laser was a total blast in the 80s whether by accident or design it shook the radio world. Namesake stations will get interest but its a bit like going to see aa cover band .
Dont get me wrong, I wish them well but I do wonder what a younger listener might make of the name Laser ? 558 ?

To be fair they must be doing OK as its been going almost 2 years now, well its been almost 2 years since I discovered it.
There is a new Laser Hot Hits testing right now. I don't know if it comes from the same guys who brings Laser 558 back. But I hear Tommy Rivers testing right now: https://stream.btsstream.com/stream/laserhothits No website, Facebook info right now, only a stream. Sound quality is spot on!
I'm still very confused about all the different versions of "Laser" knocking about. I liked this one the best but the link in the quoted post is now dead and I'm not sure if this spawned into one of the several tribute stations out there.
Can anyone offer any clarity and point me in the direction of this one?

Facebook followers are the first to find out!"
There's a "Laser Hits" on the new DAB+ multiplex in Ireland - is this the same thing?

Other radio stations are fine, so it must be at their end.

It was by design Caroline had a certain following but Laser had a bigger following because of it's slogan " All Hits All The Time " pity Laser's managment was so poor the format was bang on Charlie Wolf was very good IMHO.

Erwin, that's Ray Anderson's recently launched station being discussed on the other thread.
Steve Bannister's station, which launched in October 2023, link given on the first post on this thread is here:
https://laser558.live/
Has Laser 558 and Laser 558AM streams as well as Laser 558 Classic and Laser Hot Hits. Has some SSDAB outlets.
There's also long running shortwave station Laser Hot Hits International

He quoted a post of yours which said " I don't know if it comes from the same guys who brings Laser 558 back." which is why I replied.
Thanks Erwin.
I never heard that before. Is it new?
