Love Island’s longevity

Love Island is likely the leading programme on terrestrial TV attracting the 16-34 demographic. Often though that demographic move on after a few years (Hollyoaks / X Factor). I wonder if the 16-34 demographic will always be watching or, as people in that demographic age they’ll continue watching until its majority audience is the 35-59 demographic?

I wondered that, as the average on this forum, I think is much higher.

I do think this forum is very much the abnormality though, hence why a lot of people have so many complaints about the show because they aren’t really the demographic for it.

    ITV say:
Love Island and Love Island: All Stars has proved to be one of ITV’s biggest shows for 16-34 audiences, having been the most popular show of the day amongst the demographic over 450 times. The show has also been streamed on ITVX over 2 billion times.

The main demographic is quite obviously <30. To answer the question I'm not sure Love Island will still be around when a lot of those people get to 35-59. TV changes quick and there's only so long a format can last.
