AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.
Annotated transcripts do not represent all supported alternative splices within 5' UTR.
Gene model reviewed during 5.46
Tissue-specific extension of 3' UTRs observed during later stages (FBrf0218523, FBrf0219848); all variants may not be annotated
3.0, 2.8, 2.0, 1.8, 1.756 (longest cDNA)
411 (aa); 45 (kD observed)
Interacts with dynein and dynactin. Does not interact with Paf-A-Halpha.
Dimerization mediated by the LisH domain may be required to activate dynein.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Four size classes of transcripts are detected in all developmental stages, with high levels in ovaries. In the ovary, Lis-1 transcripts are detected in all germline and soma cells in the germarium.
A single band of 45 kD is detected in all developmental stages.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.

Lis-1 acts as a negative regulator of mitochondrial transport along the axons in aging adult neurons.
Lis-1 protein is recruited to RNA localisation signals and is required for net minus end-directed transport of apically localised RNAs. Lis-1 promotes the recruitment of dynein and dynactin to RNA localisation complexes. In addition, Lis-1 protein levels appear to regulate the overall association of dynein with dynactin.
One of 42 Drosophila genes identified as being most likely to reveal molecular and cellular mechanisms of nervous system development or plasticity relevant to human Mental Retardation disorders.
Lis-1 is involved in microtubule based nuclear motility.
Lis-1 is required in the female germline for synchronised germline cell division, fusome integrity and oocyte differentiation.
