The mutation was originally reported as Ser to Amber but was corrected to Gln to Amber.
trxS2582b/trxS2582a and trxS2582b/trxR1578mut transheterozygotes are lethal.
trxS2582b is a dominant enhancer of eye pigment variegation observed in the E1 (combination of gypsy{}ci-E1, P{lacW}Dplac) and Pci (P{lacW}Dplac) backgrounds; in a P{lacW}3-76a background, however, only males show significant eye pigmentation silencing.
trxS2582b is a dominant suppressor of the eye pigment variegation observed in the In(1)wm4 background.
ash1AM3, trxAM3/trx[+] has partially lethal - majority live phenotype
ash1AM4, trxAM3/trx[+] has partially lethal - majority live phenotype
ash1AM5, trxAM3/trx[+] has partially lethal - majority live phenotype
The following double heterozygotes are viable: trxS2582b/+, ash1N303mut/+; and trxS2582b/+, ash1W770mut/+. The following double heterozygotes are semi-viable compared to controls: ash1W790term/+, trxS2582b/+; ash1Q893term/+, trxS2582b/+; and ash1H1873W/+, trxS2582b/+.
