The expression of upd3UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4byn-Gal4 for 2h at the third instar larval wandering stage (using Gal80[ts] for the temporal control of expression) leads to an enlarged pylorus due to increased cell number.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR13E02 during adulthood (using Gal80[ts] for the temporal control of expression) leads to enlarged pylorus due to endocycles (i.e. no increase in cell number and increased nuclear size).

Expression of upd3UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4path-c135 leads to generally larger imaginal eye discs while carpet glia cells form normally with anteriorly extending membrane in the eye disc of the third instar larvae when compared to controls.

Expression of upd3Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of either Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ or Scer\GAL4c564 impairs the lifespan of adult flies on a standard diet but does not further decrease the lowered survival of flies fed lard-supplemented diet.

Expression of upd3Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ in the upd3Δ hemizygote background reduces the lifespan of upd3Δ hemizygote males on a standard diet.
