Expression of Toll-6C1020Y.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU results in significantly increased number of eve-positive neurons in the ventral nerve cord (VNC) in third instar larvae but also induces increased level of cell death (higher number of Dcp-1-positive cells) in the pupal VNC, as compared to driver-only controls.

The expression of Toll-6C1020Y.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4Toll-6-D42 leads to a significant increase in the number of active zones, but not in the axonal length, at the larval NMJ, as compared to controls.

Constitutive overexpression of Toll-6, through expression of Toll-6C1020Y.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG in the neurons, under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155, causes axon targeting defects. Neuronal apoptosis is rescued in these overexpression mutants.

The increased cell death (number of apoptotic Dcp-1-positive cells) in the ventral nerve cord of pupae expressing Toll-6C1020Y.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU can be increased further by Myd88kra-56 homozygosity and rescued by combination with wekEX14/Df(2R)BSC279.

Pan-neuronal expression of Toll-6C1020Y.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG, under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155, suppresses the semi-lethality seen in spz2 mutants.
