Melanotic masses are frequently detected in Vps26^G2008 mutant third instar larvae.

(Del Signore et al., 2017)

Over-expression of Vps26^G2008 driven by Scer\GAL4^GMR.PU causes a mild eye phenotype with occasional presence of black lesions (in around 11% of mutant flies, compared to 3% in controls). Expression of Vps26^G2008 driven by Scer\GAL4^Ddc.PU does not cause significant locomotor deficits.
