Expression of kisGD4510 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 results in viable adults at 25[o]C. These adults are unable to fly and hold their wings apart and below their bodies with 100% penetrance. The flies show a reduction in climbing ability in the first 10 days after eclosion compared to controls.

Expression of kisGD4510 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 at 25[o]C produces viable flies with various morphological defects, including duplicated bristles on the thorax (24% penetrance) and extra vein differentiation in the wing, which is mostly seen near wing veins L2 and L5. The flies show normal climbing ability in the first 10 days after eclosion.

Males expressing kisGD4510 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 show an appropriate learned response in a conditioned courtship suppression assay (similar to wild-type males, they show a significant drop in courtship behaviour in the last 10 minutes of training compared to the first 10 minutes when placed in a courtship chamber with a previously mated (unreceptive) female for 60 minutes). However, the males are deficient in their immediate recall memory, failing to show a decrease in courtship activity compared to sham-trained wild-type flies when tested within 2 minutes of being transferred to a mating chamber with a receptive virgin female.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 0-10% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in planar polarity defects in the orientation of bristles of the notum in 0-10% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.
