442bp deletion starting at nucleotide 236.
A 442 bp deletion is reported in FBrf0127360; due to differences between the reference sequence and the sequence reported in GB:AF223394, the endpoints of the 442 bp deletion in GB:AF223394 map to a slightly longer fragment in the reference sequence
Eggs derived from grk2B6/grkHF females lack operculum regions II and III (the section that normally extends from the area surrounding the micropyle to the dorsal appendages and the section that is normally between the dorsal appendages), and instead only region I cells are present symmetrically surrounding the micropyle, following a symmetric collar that separates the operculum from the rest of the chorion.
In egg chambers with grk2B6 germline clones, the oocyte nucleus is incorrectly located at the posterior of the oocyte in 94/154 cases observed. In egg chambers with a mosaic germline composed of eight grk2B6 nurse cells, seven wild-type nurse cells and a wild-type oocyte, the oocyte nucleus is properly localized at the anterior margin of the oocyte in all observed cases. Likewise, the oocyte is also anteriorly localized when egg chambers have a grk2B6 oocyte with eight grk2B6 nurse cells and seven wild-type nurse cells. In germline mosaics with a grk2B6 oocyte, the border cell cluster is correctly dorsally localized and dorsal follicle cell fates are not affected.
Heterozygous females lay eggs with fused or partially fused dorsal appendages (75% at 18oC, 27.7% at 25oC and 13.8% at 29oC).
Embryos laid by homozygous grk2B6 mothers are strongly ventralised.

grk2B6/grk[+] is an enhancer of dorsal appendage phenotype of Scer\GAL4VP16.nanos.UTR, kek1UASp.cGa
grk3/grk2B6 is a suppressor of follicle cell | increased number phenotype of Dis32/Dis3G5039
grk3/grk2B6 is a non-suppressor of dorsal appendage phenotype of cicfet-U6/cicfet-T6
Scer\GAL4CY2, dppUAS.cSa, grk2B6/grkHF has egg chorion phenotype
Scer\GAL4CY2, dppUAS.cSa, grk2B6/grkHF has egg phenotype
Scer\GAL4CY2, dppUAS.cSa, grk2B6/grkHF has micropyle phenotype
Eggs derived from females expressing dppScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 in a grk2B6/grkHF background have misshaped micropyles, show the loss of the collar that normally separates the operculum from the rest of the chorion and show a reduction in egg diameter.
Expression of grk::ylgrk1-275.yl1826-1984 is able to suppress the grk2B6/grkHF oogenesis phenotype.
Heterozygosity for grk2B6 enhances the penetrance of dorsal appendage loss or fusion in eggs laid by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16; aretScer\UAS.P\T.cFa females, from 5% to 90%. This phenotype still shows over 90% penetrance in eggs laid by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16; aretScer\UAS.P\T.cFa; grk2B6/+; vasαTub67C.T:Avic\GFP flies.
The penetrance and expressivity of the weak ventralization phenotype seen in eggs laid by kek1Scer\UAS.P\T.cGa; Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 females is strongly enhanced by heterozygosity for grk2B6.
The presence of one or two copies of Dwil\GK18382+ta in grk2B6/grk2E12 mutant D. melanogaster flies results in four distinct eggshell phenotypes. Most eggshells, 69% and 78% from one and two copies of Dwil\GK18382+ta, respectively, are wild-type or wild-type with an enlarger area posterior to the base of the dorsal appendages, similar to wild-type flies expressing Dwil\GK18382+ta. A dorsal ridge-like morphology is found in 10% and 1% of the eggshells from one and two copies of Dwil\GK18382+ta, respectively.
In 13% and 18% of the eggshells from in grk2B6/grk2E12 mutant D. melanogaster with one and two copies of Dwil\GK18382+ta, respectively, there is a single or fused dorsal appendage.
In 8% and 3% of the eggshells from in grk2B6/grk2E12 mutant D. melanogaster with one and two copies of Dwil\GK18382+ta, respectively, the eggshells are collapsed and the eggs unmountable.
