Embryos laid by heterozygous females are moderately ventralised; ventral denticle bands are expanded, dorsolaterally derived structures such as the filzkorper are reduced or absent and the dorsal hairs are almost completely missing. At gastrulation, embryos laid by mutant females invaginate an apparently normal ventral furrow, but initiation of the lateral cephalic furrow is shifted to a more dorsal position and fewer dorsal folds are formed than normal. Embryos laid by eaD3/Df(3R)ea-5022rx1 females are virtually indistinguishable from embryos laid by eaD3/+ females.
Ventralized.
Embryos moderately ventralized.
Heterozygous embryos have a moderately ventralized phenotype: denticle belts wider than wild type and dorsolaterally derived filzkorper is absent. Heterozygous females are sterile.
