Elizabeth Latimer
I completed my BA in French linguistics at the University of Southampton in 2010 and followed straight on with an MRes at Southampton.
While completing my MRes I taught French language at the university to undergraduates at stage 1 and 2. My MRes dissertation explored the existence of the use of the preposition à to express possession in French.
I was awarded an AHRC scholarship to study at the University of Exeter where I completed my PhD in French sociolinguistics in June 2017. My research has focussed on the non-standard use of prepositions in Quebec French. My thesis examines three variables the (POSS) variable that is used in possessive constructions, and the (ANTE), and (POST) variables that are found in locative constructions.
Supervisors: Pr Aidan Coveney and Dr Zoe Boughton
