
Mark Franklin
Until he retired in 2007, Mark Franklin was the Reitemeyer Professor of International Politics at Trinity College Connecticut (a position he held for nine years), having previously taught at the Universities of Houston, Texas (for nine years) and the University of Strathclyde, Scotland (for twenty years). In retirement he has held positions at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy), Nuffield College (Oxford, England) the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (Waasenaar, the Netherlands), the University of Sydney (Australia) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge MA, USA). Dr Franklin received his PhD from Cornell University in 1970 and his B.A. from Oxford University (Balliol College) in 1964. In 2001-2 Professor Franklin was a Guggenheim Fellow at Harvard University and in 1984-5 he was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Iowa. He has published more than twenty books (five of them single-authored), including Elections and Voters (Palgrave 2009) The Economy and the Vote (Cambridge 2007)
