pointation (plural pointations)

  1. (South Asia, chiefly Pakistan, law, criminology) Information from an individual that leads to the arrest of a suspect or otherwise helps solve a crime.
    • 1971, The All Pakistan Legal Decisions:
      The conviction of appellant Ali Akber rests on the circumstantial evidence of Mst. Namoi and her husband Gulab alias Motan, the judicial confession and his pointation of the place from where the dead body was dug up.
    • 1994, The All Pakistan Legal Decisions:
