Seeking feedback on rejected article
[edit]Hi all! I recently submitted this draft article on abortion access in the United States, and it was rejected with a note saying the topic is already covered in this article. To me, the two articles are very different - the existing article focuses primarily on the history, legality, and politics of abortion care, whereas the article I drafted describes the practical realities of how people currently access abortion in the US. I would be grateful for any feedback or advice folks have for me on how to proceed! I am open to editing the existing article, but would like to better understand the process and my options first. - Hi @NMCushman. Thanks for writing this. You have almost enough edits to make the draft go live yourself. WIkipedia requires very new editors to submit drafts for review, but you have 8 edits over 7 weeks. If you make two more edits to any page, you'll become autoconfirmed and can then move the page yourself to make it a live article. Please also see the guidelines on external links and be careful to not promote any organization.
- If you need further help, let me know or ask or the Teahouse. Also, editing existing articles is always a good idea. They tend to get many more pageviews than new articles and are often quite outdated. Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 15:45, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
Women in Green's 9th edit-a-thon
[edit]
Hello WikiProject Women's Health:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Editathon event in October 2025!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2025, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event with the theme What Women Do! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 different occupations or professions (or broader roles in society) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates
[edit]For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:
- "This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale."
There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners.
