Implementation of consensus infobox changes for current seasons
[edit]At Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)/Archive_172#Designating_current_seasons_in_infoboxes, I read clear consensus to use text rather than images to designate the current season. I went ahead and made the change at {{Infobox award}}, but since I'm not a sports person, I'll leave the implementation for sports templates such as {{Infobox football league}} to you all here. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 21:35, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
- I've added a DNAU tag to this thread; feel free to remove it once you have finished implementation. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 20:49, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Remove 'last match' field from active teams' infoboxes.
[edit]I have initiated a discussion in WP:CRICKET for the exclusion of the last game played field by an active cricket team. Perhaps it applies to other sports, as well?

List of sports rivalries
[edit]The article list of sports rivalries and its associated subpages (ie. list of association football club rivalries in Europe or university and college rivalry) is very long and lacks a clear inclusion criteria. I have expressed concerns on the talk page, but given my lack of expertise in the overwhelming majority of sports mentioned in the article my ability to contribute is limited. Some of the subpages (such as rivalries in the Australian Football League) seem to be more clearly structured with a greater emphasis on prose, but overall it seems clear to me that these pages need some sort of coordination between the many different sport wikiprojects, and as such I feel like it would be desirable to hear a wide variety of viewpoints on how this topic should be covered. Sport in Kosovo
[edit]Hi, I've been trying to work on this article Sport in Kosovo from a copy-editing angle, but there's just so much information that seems like it might be better as other pages, or removed entirely. I'm really at a loss at how to wrangle this article into something with less expansive a scope, and have it actually be a useful page that discusses sports in Kosovo.
I've got a post on the talk page of the article, but no engagement yet. How long is normal to wait before I make some even bolder changes than I've already made?
I'm new to the community side of wikipedia, so is there a process or a tag I can add to the article to get people with sports knowledge to take a look at this page? My apologies is this post here is in the wrong spot!
Thanks in advance for any advice/guidance. maryshelagh (talk) 20:19, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Maryshelagh: Hi, if your changes are uncontested, there's no need to wait for anything, you can keep pushing along. I'd suggest taking the page one sport/section at a time for a couple of reasons: 1) because the page looks very complicated and dividing the work in stages might be easier, and moreso 2) because this general sports project tends to have only a fraction of activity and community engagement compared to those for specific sports. For football, consider posting to the football WikiProject at WT:FOOTBALL, possibly asking for help condensing and merging that content to Football in Kosovo. Good luck. - Thanks! I’ll check out those wiki projects for input and keep on trucking along on the page :) maryshelagh (talk) 17:14, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates
[edit]For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:
- "This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale."
There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners. Sky Halo
[edit]Hi all,
I’ve added a short paragraph to the “2017–present: Channel re-alignment and expansion” section in Sky Sports about the launch and removal of Sky Sports’ Sky Halo TikTok account in November 2025.
The addition summarises widely reported unbiased coverage from BBC News, CNN, The Guardian etc, all of which reported that the channel was taken down a few days after launch following criticism that some of the content was sexist. As this received significant press attention from multiple major outlets, it seems to meet Wikipedia’s standards for due weight and reliable sourcing.
I’ve kept the wording brief and unbiased, focusing only on verifiable facts and avoiding any misinterpretation. The paragraph is placed in the recent history section because this is where other organisational developments and controversies are already discussed.
Happy to revise if anyone has suggestions. CrazyKangaroo24 (talk) 23:36, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
