Asteroid stub question
[edit]I'm not particularly active in this project due to a lack of scientific background, but at one point I expanded the article on the Baptistina family of asteroids. Back then, I noticed that its largest member was a stub, so I figured I'd merge it into its namesake family as one well-defined set of objects. However, this merger seems to have caused technical issues that I am not very familiar with. MrAstronomy101 (talk · contribs) undid the merger recently with this comment "it causes an issue on the path with the asteroids linking to the next number becoming a sorta barrier or wall
". I think this refers to Template:Minor planets navigator. I see a lot of other stubs are listed in it that might need to be cleaned up in some form. I would appreciate to hear some broader thoughts on this issue. ~Maplestrip/Mable (chat) 11:21, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- I think that does just refer to the minor planets navigator. It's not really a "technical issue" or even an issue at all; inevitably there will be some lowest-numbered asteroid that doesn't have its own article, creating this supposed "barrier" in clicking through them.
- For future reference I would recommend posting on the main WikiProject Astronomy talk page, I don't think anyone watches this page. SevenSpheres (talk) 01:30, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, I'll move this discussion there. ~Maplestrip/Mable (chat) 08:00, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
It looks as if the 2024 virtual impactor section should be rewritten in the past tense. Lavateraguy (talk) 17:26, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
