Seeking advice/help on creation of an article.

[edit]

I have been advised to create a Wikipedia article/biography for my late father, Dr. OW (Bud) Hampton. I also realize that this project would be most suitable for someone 1) not related to him 2) with experience writing articles 3) a colleague in the field. Dr. OW (Bud) Hampton passes the "Notability" criteria. I would be happy to collaborate on this project as I am familiar with many of his accomplishments and contributions to the fields of anthropology, geology, and archaeology. I have included a citation regarding his most notable work and contribution to the field of anthropology. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/375767086_2023_Sharing_the_Heritage_of_Dani_Art_The_Hampton_Collection_at_the_Tracing_Patterns_Foundation

Thank you for your interest and time. Hollisah (talk) 22:15, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Crab claw sail

[edit]

I am looking for editors who may be able to make some input on the terminology and ethnography of sail types used by Austronesians. I have put {{disputed}} on crab claw sail, as explained on the talk page[1].

I have already raised this on WP:SAIL and WP:SHIPS, but neither are obviously ideal candidates for the classification of traditional sail types found in the Pacific and Island Southeast Asia. ThoughtIdRetired TIR 23:28, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Aquatic ape hypothesis in article "Origin of speech" [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_speech#Possible_semi-aquatic_adaptations ]

[edit]

I see that our article "Origin of speech" includes a section on "Possible semi-aquatic adaptations" (Aquatic ape hypothesis - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquatic_ape_hypothesis )

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_speech#Possible_semi-aquatic_adaptations

Would anybody like to fact-check this?

Thanks - 189.122.84.88 (talk) 03:28, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates

[edit]

For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:

There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners.
