WikiGameJam pictures
[edit]We snapped a few pictures that show people who ought to be identified. Kindly help if you can. Commons:Category:WikiGameJam NYC 2025 Jim.henderson (talk) 17:51, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think that's necessary aside from established users who have a dedicated Commons photo category. We'd need to be clear about who has disclosed their real name publicly. Complex/Rational 18:57, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if he was referring to the attendees or the guest speakers, which I've been slowly annotating (at least on my pics). Tduk (talk) 20:02, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, I failed to make it clear. Clearly the ones who stood up at the lectern were presenting themselves to the public. Jim.henderson (talk) 09:24, 11 October 2025 (UTC)

Establish a direct line to provide feedback to WMNYC organizers and the Board
[edit]I propose that the Board and organizers consider evaluating the current pathways for the community to provide feedback about chapter initiatives and spending. For instance, I support less edit-a-thons and more events focused on Wikidata for GLAMs, organizer trainings offering leadership and professional skills trainings to existing members. Hexatekin (talk) 15:40, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Hexatekin I've found that the best way to reach the board and/or discuss organizational issues is via the chapter's Discord server. I don't know that there's an official "communicate with the board" channel, but I'm sure if you post to #wikinyc-chat the right people will see it. RoySmith (talk) 16:41, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- I definitely have gone the route of posting to the Discord server pretty frequently at this point. But I still think member feedback could be more formalized. Hexatekin (talk) 16:58, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- I generally just go to the general meetings and edit-athons most months and chat with whoever's there. This Wednesday night's will probably be especially light on substance, but I still intend to be there. I mean it's not only a small board; it's a small org, and much communicating can be accomplished without the aid of formality. Well, yes, not everyone can frequently spare a few hours in an afternoon or evening. Jim.henderson (talk) 11:01, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
Lightning talk
[edit]At a near future meeting, I would love to present a lighting quick talk on "My Big 5 Hopes for 2026". Ping me and let me know. Bearian (talk) 17:03, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- By my calculations, the next WikiWeds will be Wednesday April 29th at Prime Produce. - Wil540 art (talk) 19:53, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Wednesday, April 25. - kosboot (talk) 03:01, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Kosboot April 25th is not a Wednesday. Do you mean March? - Wil540 art (talk) 13:43, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
