Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Israel
| Points of interest related to Israel on Wikipedia: Outline – History – Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Israel. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Israel|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Israel. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Middle East.

- Searching for later coverage from books and such there does seem to be some, it is just not currently in the article. Searching "Sirhan Sirhan" + Metzer you, e.g., [1], which covers it for multiple pages. Will look more later. PARAKANYAA (talk) 00:11, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

- Keep notability established once is still notable forever. The fact is that the coverage was WP:SIGCOV and included numerous reliable sources for when it was most widely being covered. Iljhgtn (they/them · talk) 06:24, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

Page on an associate professor of physics at Yale written by another assistant professor in the same department; one of many created directly in main despite obvious COI. With an h-factor of 27 and 5K cites insufficient citations to pass WP:NPROF#C1, awards are all early career so do not contribute to a pass of WP:NPROF. No SIGCOV, so fails WP:GNG as well. He may be notable in 5 years, but currently this is WP:TOOSOON. COI editor has removed PROD with her own interpretation of NPROF, so now taking this (and others) to AfD. - Delete The subject is really on the fringe of notability, but I am sure we do not need to have all academics and scientists in Wikipedia with barely passed WP:NPROF. Chhandama (talk) 04:32, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. I agree with Chhandama. If the editor who created all these articles about her colleagues at Yale had confined herself to the marginally notable ones, they might have escaped unnoticed. Athel cb (talk) 11:27, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

- National Religious Party–Religious Zionism (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
When this article was created back in October 2023, WP:RS suggested that the Religious Zionist Party would change its name following the dissolution of The Jewish Home. However, more than two years later, this has not been the case and the party still uses the old branding in its website and social media. Moreover, no RS uses the name of this article [2][3][4], which suggests that the entity this article talk about never really existed in the first place. The best course of action will be to delete this article and move any new content on it to the extant Religious Zionist Party, as the Hebrew Wikipedia already did more than a year ago. - I agree with the proposed deletion. I would like the proposed merger to be mentioned in the Religious Zionist Party article, as that's what RS indicated at the time. David O. Johnson (talk) 20:35, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

No sustained coverage to demonstrate WP:GNG. An artwork that was covered at the time of display in May 2018, but there doesn't seem to be anything since then. An alternative might to be merge to Terms of service#Public awareness, but it may already be covered there in sufficient detail (that is, to merge would give it undue weight). - Delete – does not meet WP:N Wisenerd (talk) 03:51, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- Keep - I added a section on Reception that includes reviews of the piece at the time it was exhibited in Gizmodo, The Mirror and Business Insider, and also several scholarly sources and books that have mentioned the artwork in the following years. This shows not only that it had WP:SIGCOV at the time it was exhibited but that it has had a lasting influence on the field. Lijil (talk) 12:54, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Comment - Searching for dima yarovinsky in google books finds a number of sources that discuss the work from a variety of perspectives. Not sure how that impacts things. Sean.hoyland (talk) 13:31, 21 February 2026 (UTC)

- Sounds like reviews to me, altho I am less familiar with notability of art. Trying to find the relevant guidelines. Would be nice to add those in that case. ← Metallurgist (talk) 22:40, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Keep Most of the sourcing is from the original display, but there is this from months later, and Sean indicates there is yet more. I will look into that as well, but this seems to meet some level of notability. ← Metallurgist (talk) 22:43, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- This is one of those books and appears to just be an interview. I still think based on the other sources, this does meet notability, even if its bare. ← Metallurgist (talk) 22:46, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Delete All the coverage of this artwork is either insignificant or unreliable. Aggressive PR campaign does not make this a notable work of art. I do not see a way to bring this up to notable, nor do I see a way to create an article on the artist. See source assessment table below. --WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 01:50, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- You've only looked at the sources that were already in the article, though. Would you be willing to look at the sources I added and reconsider your vote? Lijil (talk) 12:56, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
- No, Ref-bombing the article with passing mentions isn't going to show notability. You did not address the issue of the basic sources of the article being unreliable and insignificant. The "Reception" section is not persuasive to me. --WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 01:39, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
- Ref-bombing? Please remember to assume good faith! I am trying to improve the article to see if there is an WP:AtD and I found multiple additional sources. The decision to delete an article isn’t based on the source that happen to be in the article when it’s nominated for deletion but on ALL the sources that can be found. Anyway, if you still think it should be deleted that’s ok. Thanks for contributing and caring about Wikipedia. Lijil (talk) 09:02, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
- What is the evidentiary basis for your 'Aggressive PR campaign' statement by the way? This seems interesting in itself. What was the objective, promotion of the artist or promotion of the idea behind the artwork by activists? Either way, it is absent from the article. Sean.hoyland (talk) 10:17, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

* I agree with deletion Not notable enough for a page. The fact that it has no artistic value is beside the point. Yesterday, all my dreams... (talk) 12:12, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
