Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Austria
| Points of interest related to Austria on Wikipedia: Outline – History – Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Austria. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Austria|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Austria. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Europe.

To the extent this person has any notability at all, it is that he was a friend of Errol Flynn, and even that tenuous claim to notability only exists due to allegations in a 1980 biography by Charles Higham that Flynn was a Nazi spy. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Errol_Flynn#Charles_Higham_biography Higham is not even mentioned in this article, which is otherwise a hodgepodge of unsourced claims concerning the subject.
Merger to Errol Flynn is not warranted as the Flynn article already has more than enough detail on that subject matter. Coretheapple (talk) 16:47, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

- Keep His coverage is indeed strongly related to Flynn, but it is not due to the 1980 book. There is an article from 1937, a short notice from 1946 (Flynn is not mentioned), an article from 1980, and one from 1989. Kelob2678 (talk) 22:47, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

- Delete per WP:TNT - I've rescued over 200 articles in the past 6 weeks. When you fix the formatting and sourcing issues, please ping me. Bearian (talk) 18:36, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
- Weak Delete I found this with I think is interesting and mentions Erben from the CIA: ERROL FLYNN CALLED
A WARTIME NAZI SPY [[1]] and these released documents from the US department of state [[2]] but not sure it's enough to warrant a keep. Agnieszka653 (talk) 04:48, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
- Keep The biography of Hermann Erben is not only relevant for Wikipedia because of his relation to Errol Flynn, but also because he was working for the German Abwehr, and also was an adventurer who accompanied Max Reisch on his famous trip around the world 1935/1936 (during the first leg of this expedition). His biography is extensively documented in 2 German books (see the sources of the lemma).Leontari1 (talk) 13:36, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
- Keep because there are countless relevant references AnAstronautsPhotographsFromSpace (talk) 23:28, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

Absolutely no significant coverage or notability in any sources beyond passing or fully trivial information or routine game coverage. aaronneallucas (talk) 05:48, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

- Delete – He only played in lower leagues so far. ⋆。˚꒰ঌ Clara A. Djalim ໒꒱˚。⋆ 13:30, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- That's not true, he's currently playing the first division in Austria. Not that that's relevant to keeping him...--Ortizesp (talk) 16:31, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Keep, significant coverage such as this, this, this, and this.--Ortizesp (talk) 16:31, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Are any of these sources really significant coverage? Three are brief articles about contract extensions and one is a short article about a fight on the field, and a comment about a sport injury. None of these show any significant coverage, in my opinion, but I would like to hear your perspective in justifying these as being significant. aaronneallucas (talk) 01:58, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
- Keep meets WP:SIGCOV. TheInevitables (talk) 18:32, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
