- Library of Congress record has no authorship or copyright information available for this image. Kelly hi! 06:24, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The image was published prior to January 1, 1923 and I can find no later copyright renewal, nor can I find that it was published int he Washington Star. If desired, I can send a request to the Washington Post for verification. Morphh (talk) 13:48, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- If you have a source showing that it was pre-1923, that's really all that is needed. Kelly hi! 14:09, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The author, George Yost Coffin, died Nov. 28, 1896. The image was estimated to have been created between 1880-1896, which is listed on the source page. Morphh (talk) 14:22, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Seneca Ray Stoddard.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- Source link goes to bare image. No information on authorship, publication, or copyright. Kelly hi! 21:30, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The photograph is a self-portrait by Seneca Ray Stoddard, who died in 1917. I don't have a publication date for this photo, but Stoddard was a professional photographer-- he published his photographs. I'll add more info if I can find it. -- Mwanner | Talk 13:03, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, it's been used a number of places, including as the cover photo of a book on Stoddard by Maitland De Sormo. There appear to be very few photographs of Stoddard, and it would seem to be eligible for a Fair Use tag if it can't be shown to be public domain. Mwanner | Talk 13:31, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
