TolBot Task 4

[edit]

Hiya, can I have a look at TolBot's code pls, specifically task 4. Thanks, Polygnotus (talk) 23:11, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Polygnotus: Added at m:User:TolBot/Task 4#Source. I do note that it's just a rather lazy/suboptimal regex approach. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 20:59, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! According to Wikipedia:Categorization#Categorizing_draft_pages there are 4 methods, So it would be cool if the code could handle those 4, then deduplicate and then insert at MOS:ORDER. So the idea would be to identify nowikied and commented out bits of text, add those to the pool and remove the nowiki tag/start or end comments if they contain nothing but cats and whitespace. See User:Polygnotus/Scripts/DraftCategories.js. Polygnotus (talk) 12:22, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'll take a look at this shortly when I have capacity. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 23:22, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Manoftheword&thebird on User:Manoftheword&thebird (17:44, 6 December 2025)

[edit]

how do i make templates? specifically in visual editor. --Manoftheword&thebird (talk) 17:44, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Manoftheword&thebird; welcome to Wikipedia! There's some information on templates, including making them, at Help:Template. It's rather suboptimal at the moment to make templates using VisualEditor — VE isn't really built for the logic and complexity that many templates have; its use-case is primarily for writing content rather than more 'back-end' template work. If you would like to work on templates, I would strongly recommend using a wikitext editor to do so. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 23:18, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I couldn't find any sources that Wikipedia accepted, I completely expanded this article as well as added links:

@Thmindbender: Thank you for your contribution. If you are having trouble adding sources, Help:Referencing for beginners may be of use. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 03:16, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
