disruptive editing

kindly stop ur disruptive editing, videos are allowed to be added in wikipedia. Adding a film video footage is nothing wrong. you dont feel shy about your favourite film star's nudity. Also dont delete other references. please stop your disruption Dakinibsm (talk) 16:15, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

  • It is you who is doing disruptive edits. The video you have been adding has already been removed from Dailymotion (note it) for "Terms of service" violation. Go and see itTitoDutta 16:22, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

the video

the video is gone, I know, but why ru vandalising the page by deleting the references and content added by me. are u crazy Dakinibsm (talk) 17:18, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

  • If the video is gone, why were trying to add that copyvio link back? Go and see the definition WP:Vandalism. Don't use a term that you don't understand. Your recent edit at Chatrak is better though. TitoDutta 18:09, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

Disruptive Edits

Hello,

Any edits that I am making to Kritika Kamra's wikkipedia page are by her permission. I am the admin of her official fan page, http://www.facebook.com/KritikaKamraOfficial - She is also an admin to the page. I noticed you are continuously removing the page and the picture i have uploaded. Her verified twitter ID is: http://www.twitter.com/Kritika_Kamra - where you can find she has claimed this to be her official page.

Her original page with over 400K likes was unfortunately deleted due to unknown reasons, therefore this is a new page, which is not yet verified.

Can i kindly request you to keep the change i am making, in regards to her page address and updating her picture. I will repeat again, that i am making all this changes as per her request and with her complete authorization.

Also, the name suggests TeamKritikaKamra, but there is only one person managing, updating and using this account.

Thank you,

TKK. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TeamKritikaKamra (talkcontribs) 17:01, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Kritika Kamra does not own the page. She is also an admin to the page. — no one is an admin of any page here. Does she have a Wikipedia account? What is the username? The current infobox image is a good one, don't change that, specially with a netcopyvio image. Please read WP:COI carefully. TitoDutta 18:56, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

I am not talking about Wikipedia page, i'm talking about her official facebook page; the page link that i am adding to her info box is her official page - Why is that being deleted. Also the picture is not good, as Kritika Kamra herself wishes to change it. She is not happy with the picture, and has asked me to change it on her behalf. Can you please advise me what is your requirement for that? It will be appreciated. Also can you please advise me what do you mean by netcopyvio? What copyrights am i violating by adding a new picture of hers to your wikipedia page?

Thank you, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amnaish (talkcontribs) 21:16, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

  • The image you are trying to add is a net copyvio (either it is collected from internet or its copies are already available in the web). We already have images of the subject. You are trying to replace with a more glamorous image as the "subject"'s request. Tha image is copyvio too. I'll not allow you to do it. The current image is fine.
These Facebook, Twitter etc are not official website. TitoDutta 03:49, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

I have a question for you then. If we upload a picture that is not published anywhere on the net or in print at all, would it be acceptable? Kritika can provide a brand new picture that is exclusively with her at this time. Please advise. We really want to change the current image please, and any kind of help would be appreciated. Thank you (Amnaish (talk) 02:26, 21 May 2014 (UTC))

I had uploaded the image via TeamKritikaKamra account, and have now rec'd the ticket to use it (ticket #2014051910013853) - So i have now used that picture on Kritika's page. Hope there is no problem with that. ~Amna

  • News and notes: "Crisis" over Wikimedia Germany's palace revolution
Last Sunday the board of Wikimedia Germany passed 9–1 a vote of no confidence in the chapter's executive director, Pavel Richter, who has held the position since 2009. With more than 50 employees, an annual budget approaching $10 million, and the right to conduct its own fundraising through the Wikimedia Foundation's (WMF) site banners, Wikimedia Germany is the second-largest organisation in the movement after the WMF itself. The decision was announced on the Wikimedia mailing list by the chapter chair, Nikolas Becker.
  • Traffic report: Doodles' dawn
It's a relief to see Google Doodles having an impact again; their wide coverage means that they inspire curiosity on many subjects which, for reasons of nationality, ethnicity or gender, might not be known in the English-speaking world. It's a shame then, that Wikipedia so often fails to keep up; articles on Google Doodles are almost invariably C-class, and seldom do justice to their subjects. Still, interest in Google Doodles has been waning in recent months—Audrey Hepburn last week was the first to top the list since December—so any rise in popularity is worth celebrating.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Heropanti may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • Heropanti is a remake of a Bengali movie [[Shedin Dekha Hoyechilo] which in turn is a remake of a Telugu movie called Parugu

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 16:15, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

About Swami Vivekananda

Hello Titodutta, how are you? I trust all is well. Have you read this book:- Swami Tejasananda (1940). A Short Life of Swami Vivekananda. Advaita Ashrama (Swami Bodhasarananda). ISBN 81-7505-030-6. {{cite book}}: ISBN / Date incompatibility (help) about Swamiji??? Jim Carter (talk) 19:55, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

No no thank you for your kind hearted proposal, I just completed reading it yesterday, I just wanted you to see the page 118; Third para; You will find some dissimilarity with the book and our article Vivekananda. Please check it and let me know if you have any problem finding it. Many thanks, Jim Carter (talk) 04:16, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
Read the section Death properly in the article; It has been said here that Vivekananda passed while he was absorbed in meditation. But according to the book; It has been said on line 22-25, pg-188-189, para-3rd. that after he finished his meditation, he laid himself down on his bed about an hour later (i.e. After he already finished his meditation) he changed his side and took two long deep breath and then he passed. You can see the difference, on our article it has been said he passed while meditation; but the book says he passed after finishing his meditation. Now what should we do? Jim Carter (talk) 19:30, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Absorbed in meditation — is definitely wrong information. Other scholarly works don't support it. Wikipedia article has concise information, you may read event flow of the day here TitoDutta 19:33, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
Hmm. I got it. On a separate discussion, have you created that site? And how about focusing Vivekananda article for FA? Jim Carter (talk) 19:42, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

  • News and notes: The English Wikipedia's second featured-article centurion; wiki inventor interviewed on video
With the promotion to featured article of Grus (constellation) on 17 May, Casliber became Wikipedia's second featured-article centurion, following Wehwalt's groundbreaking achievement last December. Cas's first FA, Banksia integrifolia, a group effort, was promoted on 16 November 2006. His first solo project, Diplodocus, followed in January 2007; he has rarely been off the FAC since. In a second story, Ward Cunningham, an American computer programmer who invented the wiki, was interviewed by the WMF.
  • Featured content: Zombie fight in the saloon
Wikipedia editor Sven Manguard's work is quite underappreciated a lot of the time, most likely because people haven't heard of it yet: He's developed good relationships with game companies, and is thus able to get full-resolution screenshots released under a Creative Commons license for use on Wikipedia and elsewhere. This week's trove of new featured items on the English Wikipedia comprises seven articles, three lists, and four pictures.

  • Special report: IEG funding for women's stories: a new approach to the gender gap
Individual engagement grants (IEGs) are announced twice yearly by a volunteer WMF committee, the most recent of which we covered last December. The scheme, launched at the start of last year, awards funds to individuals or teams of up to four to produce high-impact outcomes for the WMF's online projects. It favours innovative approaches to solving critical issues in the movement.
  • News and notes: Two new affiliate-selected trustees

  • Op-ed: "Hospitality, jerks, and what I learned"—the amazing keynote at WikiConference USA
I never feel quite adequate trying to paraphrase Sumana's words: she is so articulate. I highly encourage every person who reads this article to directly watch her keynote—it directly speaks to a lot of Wikimedia's most significant issues, made with great eloquence. We have a serious issue with retaining editors, and parts of her speech could serve as a pretty good partial blueprint towards how we could begin to fix that problem.
