[edit]
Hi Skaterlight2013! I noticed that you recently made an edit and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. lp0 on fire () 07:33, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for warning me, I appreciated your messages Skaterlight2013 (talk) 07:42, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- No problem! lp0 on fire () 07:43, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
By the way, I notice you're doing a lot of adding mayors to cities. It's important to cite a reliable source for such information, especially since the mayors are living people. More information can be found at Wikipedia:Citing sources. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, or you can ask for help at the Teahouse. lp0 on fire () 08:00, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- I completely forgot to cite, Sorry about that, My apologies Skaterlight2013 (talk) 11:15, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- No worries. I'd recommend going back adding citations to them all if you haven't yet. lp0 on fire () 11:54, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to A Phon Subdistrict when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.
Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 15:31, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
Bare URLs in citations
[edit]Please format your citations properly and remember to follow WP:INFOBOXCITE (infoboxes do not require citations for information that is cited in the body). The MRSC citations are not the best to use, as they rely on self-updating, and should be replaced by newspapers and city websites where possible. SounderBruce 19:10, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, My Apologies. I'll re-edit it as soon as possible Skaterlight2013 (talk) 10:29, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
Welcome!
[edit]Hey Skaterlight2013!
Welcome to this awesome project! Looks like you're undertaking a major effort to include government leaders and such in Washington state articles right out of the box and I wish you well on what's going to be a long task.
If I may, please make sure to use the edit summary located above the Publish/Preview option to let your fellow editors know what you accomplished, added, or changed. Further details about the need for such can be found at Help:Edit summary.
I've seen you are making efforts to provide a source/citation for every addition, which is the perfect process by the way. I am not familiar with Visual Editor but there are templates and guides to help fill in the citations with dates, titles, authors, among other categories. Doing so provides a more fleshed out reference that can help guide or track sources not just today but in the future. A simple URL link is better than nothing but peruse Wikipedia:Citing sources and its many links on how to use expanded citations. It's easier than one would think!
As an example, here's the updated reference for the mayor of Ilwaco, Washington - Mike Cassinelli[1]
It's great to have you here and if you ever need any help, feel free to reach out to the multitude of awesome editors here in Washington state. The rules and guidelines are many, so don't feel overwhelmed or frustrated (WP:CLUE)...I've been at this awhile and I'm only 4.8% of the way there! You'll get the hang of it.
Again, welcome, and hope to see you around more often!

November 2025 (part 2)
[edit]
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edits you made did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
or in the visual editor:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing →
Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button.
Thanks! Magnolia677 (talk) 19:37, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing out the things I've missed. It's a pleasure! Skaterlight2013 (talk) 11:59, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
Government type
[edit]Please make sure to link to Mayor–council government and retain the dash per MOS:DASH. Citations should not be left as bare URLs, as previously discussed. I've gone ahead and cleaned up some of the earlier edits, but it is best to change your editing habits to conform with Wikipedia's basic style and citation guidelines. SounderBruce 06:13, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- I apologized for it, Thank you for noticing the mistakes, It’s a pleasure! Skaterlight2013 (talk) 06:37, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- Your most recent edits are still adding unformatted citations. Please take a moment to stop and actually read all of the policies that you are being sent before continuing with further edits. SounderBruce 09:29, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, I've read the whole thing. I added the format citations for mayors of the town, take Rainier as an example, is the citation well? if it's not then tell me, I apologized if it's not that good. If your have a struggle trying to figure out what I meant, I apologized again because english is not my first language. Skaterlight2013 (talk) 15:58, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- Your citations are still missing some of the necessary parameters (such as publisher information) and a few are pointing to non-existent links (e.g. at Rockford, Washington). I think it's best if you try these edits in a sandbox first and have other users check. SounderBruce 23:58, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- Can you check if it's still missing something or it's alright. I tested out 3 examples. Rosalia, Roslyn and Roy. If it's still missing something, please let me know. I appreciated it! Skaterlight2013 (talk) 05:27, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- For all three articles, the link needs to be piped and must retain the dash. Instead of [[Mayor-council government]], it needs to be [[Mayor–council government|Mayor–council]]. The citation titles do not match the sources, so please make sure to copy them over. See this edit for the proper way to format both. SounderBruce 07:41, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- I tested out 3 articles again but this time I renew the dash and more better information, Royal City, Ruston and Selah. If there's anything still missing or wrong, you can tell me right away! Skaterlight2013 (talk) 09:15, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- The Royal City article included a citation with a fabricated headline. Citations must use an un-editorialized title, especially when covering political or controversial topics. Please do not edit in this manner if you cannot commit to using citations properly. SounderBruce 20:20, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

Please double check when adding information. In this case, the mayor added was from Rainier, Oregon, which is dozens of miles away from Rainier, Washington. Make sure the source used is local to the proper subject; Wahkiakum County, Washington is closer to Rainier, Oregon, and the cited source mentions Columbia County (which Washington also has, but in a different region). - Sorry for the misinformation, I apologized. Skaterlight2013 (talk) 07:56, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 27
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Khwaeng, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Suriyawong. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:55, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi there, just a reminder to always use Preview, and to avoid using the nowiki function unless you really need to. It can easily break things, as at Kamonlak Saencha (fixed now). Just a heads up. Thanks, Jessicapierce (talk) 18:00, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello, when you add people to the Deaths in 2025 page, please note that they should be in alphabetical order under each day, and that only simple citations should be used. Thank you. Marbe166 (talk) 15:07, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
- Reminder, simple cites only. Marbe166 (talk) 10:56, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hey, buddy. We've already asked here that you only use simple cites in the Deaths in 2025, as agreed long ago by consensus, but you continue to use the bulky full cites. Please don't ignore us - either that or please don't ignore talk page alerts like the one coming to you now. You're causing a lot of cite repairs right now. Thanks.
