Anyone, including you, is welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2026 January 21 § Hō until a consensus is reached. The article List of urban areas in Norway by population has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Logoshimpo (talk) 12:01, 24 January 2026 (UTC)

Sri Lankan Tamil
[edit]Why did you make Sri Lankan Tamil a dab page? It was perfectly fine redirecting to Sri Lankan Tamils. Sri Lankan Tamil overwhelmingly refers to a Sri Lankan Tamil person, both here in Wikipedia and elsewhere. It is therefore a MOS:PRIMARYTOPIC. It very rarely refers to the Sri Lankan Tamil dialect. You had to correct dozens of links to the dab you created - how many of the links referred to the dialect? All you have done is make additional work for editors by forcing them use piping whenever they want to link to the Sri Lankan Tamils article in the singular form. Obi2canibe (talk) 11:27, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Obi2canibe: Well firstly, Sri Lanka Tamils (not Sri Lankan) was a disambiguation page but at a title which is not ambiguous, so I swapped it to the page title Sri Lanka Tamil which is, and I've just finished the job by redirecting that to Sri Lankan Tamil, preferring "Sri Lankan ..." to "Sri Lanka ..." for consistency. Secondly, yes I did clean up all the incoming, many of which were to the language not the people, I didn't count them. Thirdly, the situation we have here is just like French and German and hundreds of other situations where there is a name of a language and of a people (see Category:Language and nationality disambiguation pages) and there is no natural primary topic. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 12:18, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Sri Lankan Tamil dialects isn't a language, it's merely a dialect of the Tamil language. Even it were a language, Sri Lankan Tamils is certainly the primary topic. Sri Lankan Tamil dialects has had 2,000 page views in the last three months whereas Sri Lankan Tamils had 60,000 page views in the same period.
- The solution to Sri Lanka Tamils being a dab page was to create Sri Lankan Tamil (disambiguation), redirect Sri Lanka Tamils to Sri Lankan Tamils and leave Sri Lankan Tamil as a redirect of to Sri Lankan Tamils. Instead, you have taken a sledgehammer to crack a nut, violated MOS:PRIMARYTOPIC and caused additional work for yourself and others. A total mess. Obi2canibe (talk) 13:33, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for your opinion. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 13:42, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

Nav
[edit]Hi, favourite navigation editor! This isn't a time urgent question by any means (the article I'm working on is still in the early stages of drafting), but I've got a question about navigation/dab/redirect stuff. Basically, there was this artist called Selina Peratrovich. However, she's also credited in museum collections and in some older works as "Mrs. Alfred Adams", from her first husband. Is that the sort of thing that seems fitting to add to the Alfred Adams disambiguation page, or not? Sorry if this is a silly question! GreenLipstickLesbian💌🧸 22:36, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @GreenLipstickLesbian:, you flatterer. Yes, I think that would be appropriate and might help someone find her article. Possibly
- Selina Peratrovich (1889–1984), sometimes credited as Mrs. Alfred Adams, a Haida weaver
- Great article: I learned about Haida people! Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:07, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, thank you for both the kind words and the sketch for an entry! (And nothing I say is flattery, just the truth :P ) GreenLipstickLesbian💌🧸 22:49, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
