Phil Lynott
[edit]Hi, I noticed this edit [2] on the Phil Lynott article, and I wasn't hugely keen on it. Any of it, really. I know you wrote a lot (or all) of this, so I thought I'd get your opinion before reverting his whole edit. It just doesn't look like an improvement at all, and some of his wording is poor. Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 22:25, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry I've been away for a few weeks. Probably the best thing to do (if you haven't already done it) is to follow WP:BRD and revert to see if that gets a discussion. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:55, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Question from Pspinfosol (05:38, 28 January 2026)
[edit]I have requested for updating the logo of Protean eGov Technologies article page. How can I ensure it is updated? Thanks in advance. --Pspinfosol (talk) 05:38, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- It looks like the logo did get updated on 10 February. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:56, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Hello, Ritchie. Due to the surge of AI recently, is there any risk of Wikipedia becoming less relevant or even obsolete? --EelDud (talk) 17:59, 29 January 2026 (UTC)
- That's a good question. Personally, and I do wonder if I'm in a minority in this now, that I think of AI more as "artificial stupidity" in that it can create long winded, seemingly plausible text, that on closer inspection like an expert, is factually incorrect.
- What has definitely happened from 10-15 years ago, is back then you would do a Google search for a term and get back the Wikipedia entry as one of the first hits. Nowadays, you just get an AI answer which may, or may not, be correct. So Wikipedia is definitely becoming more of a niche and going back to its original aim as a general-purpose encyclopedia for a broader introduction to a topic, rather than a catch all place to find a date of birth or roles an actor has played. Digital Eel games "List of indie game developers" entry deleted?
[edit]Hi Ritchie. Maybe you can help. I'm mystified. ; ) I just tried to post a listing for the indie game developer "Digital Eel" on the "List of indie game developers" page. It was up for a while and then got pulled. Why? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_indie_game_developers I have an additional question but if you would, let's try to work this out first. Thanks! Wigandbean (talk) 22:09, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
- Looking at the revert in question, it appears that consensus on that article is that we only include developers who have an individual article that already exists. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:00, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Digital Eel did have a page here (for over a decade as I recall) but it was taken down (for reasons I have yet to quite figure out). Note though that it, the Digital Eel page, is in "draft" status awaiting fixes. That, in fact, was the other issue I referred to. Quite a tangle. How can we work this out? Thanks oodles for your attention! Wigandbean (talk) 02:34, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
Question from Kingsbury26 (23:52, 4 February 2026)
[edit]I think I made an edit but an issue popped up and I'm not sure it went through --Kingsbury26 (talk) 23:52, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
- The edit wasn't accepted because it tripped up an edit filter; basically anything to do with Jeffrey Epstein can be considered controversial and should be edited only with care. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:02, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Is it still possible to include my edit? Kingsbury26 (talk) 16:51, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- The edit filter would have only been enabled if there were serious issues with those type of edits, with a consensus behind it, so I would say probably not. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:18, 22 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from Happyeeki on Wikipedia:Article wizard (11:20, 5 February 2026)
[edit]Hello,how do i add a citation? --Happyeeki (talk) 11:20, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- The best guide I can give you is probably referencing for beginners, which has a lot of useful information Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:04, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
February music

From vacation, so missed some interesting stories, such as about Jubilant Sykes. Today about that Richie, jazz pianist. Which of his music samples would you have chosen? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:19, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Today something new: a 100th birthday of someone alive, György Kurtág! In 2004 I was there when he and his wife played for the Rheingau Musik Festival where he was the featured composer. They played as the 2019 DYK said, on an upright piano, - listen, the last piece was the same. - More pics uploaded, enjoy. And Rosiestep shows the latest cat! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:08, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
Today's main page features four biographies I helped to bring there, two women and two men, three opera singers (one pictured) and an actor, - a record for me, I believe ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:59, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
Question from Troy3digit (17:38, 10 February 2026)
[edit]How to get my profile link or bio link as artist --Troy3digit (talk) 17:38, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- The best answer is don't - start off by expanding an existing article first, with new sources of information, rather than trying to write a new one. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:03, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from Editsundberg (19:10, 19 February 2026)
[edit]Hi! Thanks for mentoring. I was wondering where it is good to find sources and how to know if a sentence is bad enough to need edit? --Editsundberg (talk) 19:10, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- Which particular article were you thinking of editing? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:18, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
Question from VampiricRitual1986 (02:52, 20 February 2026)
[edit]How do I create a Citation?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --VampiricRitual1986 (talk) 02:52, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
- The easiest guide is referencing for beginners, which explains things in an easy to understand manner. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:19, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
Question from Supermikea (09:24, 25 February 2026)
[edit]Hello Ritchie, I was looking over the "Beta decay transition" page, and I found a mention of a person (Enrico Fermi) that was not a piped link, so I added the piped link and later in the article I found another mention WITH a piped link. So then I got the question: "Should you refrain from adding links if 2 mentions of the subject are really close in the text?" --Supermikea (talk) 09:24, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- You should generally only add a link to an article once. There is a script, User:Evad37/duplinks-alt that can highlight duplicate links in an article for you. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 19:45, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Mentor?
[edit]Got a note that you’re my new mentor? ~2026-12766-88 (talk) 13:31, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Note: 2ewisch's mentor AlphaBetaGamma is away.
I have just made an edit to this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBTQ_rights_in_China .
The edit was more significant than a spelling mistake but I don't know if I handled it correctly. Is there a standard procedure for rewriting sentences like this? --2ewisch (talk) 23:24, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Wikipedia encourages users to to fix problems immediately. If somebody challenges your edit, or reverts it, then discussion is needed, but that hasn't happened here. Editors go round rewriting sentences and making the language better all the time. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 08:39, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Question from Officialwikibb on Catherine Richards (19:24, 27 February 2026)
[edit]Hi there! After reviewing this page and sources, I was having trouble finding any overt reference to the sentence "In 1997, she was granted doctoral equivalency by the University of Ottawa under Article 23.4.2.3.[1][2]" under "Education". Should I just remove this or is there a way to flag it to the author? --Officialwikibb (talk) 19:24, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- As this is a biography of a living person, if you cannot verify any claim in an article, it should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion. This is a longstanding part of the relevant policy. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 08:37, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
