Scope of U6 and U7

[edit]

Please refamiliarize yourself with the requirements for the WP:U6 and WP:U7 criteria. Your recent deletions met practically none of them:

  • User:Hari P Kavi - U7 only applies to pages that are more than 6 months old, and are subpages - this was neither.
  • User:Begench01 - U6 only applies to pages that haven't been edited in 6 months, and are subpages.

* Pppery * it has begun... 06:39, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate Old TfD notice

[edit]

Hi @Plastikspork, I noticed you closed the TfD discussion on merging {{Infobox Idaho State Legislature district}} with {{Infobox United States legislative district}} and deleted the former of the two, but I saw that a notice was also added to the talk page of the latter saying the result of the discussion was to delete it. I think this is inaccurate (the latter isn't getting deleted, the former was just merged into it and deleted) and it seemed like it might confuse someone, but I'm not familiar with how the {{Old TfD}} template is used so I didn't try to edit it myself. I just thought I'd mention it. @LifelongDisciple talk 22:46, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

LifelongDisciple, yes, the automated tools are always the best for capturing the result. I have updated the banner (hopefully what appears there now is more accurate). Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 20:58, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Death date and age

[edit]

So I am FINALLY going to try to dive into this. I've got a bit of time tonight and then Saturday should have a block of a few hours to really trace the code. Wanted to see if I could enlist your help... My biggest fear is that while trying to fix the issue identified at the tfd, that day first is not respected, I will break something else. So what I would absolutely love is if you could help with testing.

We've got very basic testcases setup at Module:Age/testcases. If you could add more for me it would make my life MUCH easier and I'd be very grateful. Hope you are well. - Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 03:08, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An issue with another user:

[edit]

Hey Plastikspork I've been on Wikipedia for over a decade and haven't really had this situation occur, but I'm having serious issues with a user over a page and don't know what to do. The user seems to want to start an edit war and doesn't seem to want to start a discussion on the page's discussion tab. Instead this user has asserted - without any evidence - that they are right and I am wrong - and encouraged another user to revert my work. They have also made threats of "blocks," if I don't fall in line. This is very concerning to me and I don't know what to do. I have warned the user but I fear retaliation and could use help. You can see the issue at the very bottom of my talk page. TheMovieGuy (talk) 02:02, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@TheMovieGuy: (I am not Plastikspork, but this page must be on my watchlist for some reason and I was curious).
I had a look and you haven't done anything wrong and the user has eventually, begrudgingly, admitted they were at fault. It should be water off a duck's back for you :-).
I really don't get the whole "in a dispute I will slap a warning on the user's talk page" phenomenon. Commander Keane (talk) 13:22, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Commander Keane: Thank you for responding to questions on my talk page! I will frequently go for more than a week without a login, and I always appreciate it when other users answer questions here. Thanks again! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 15:31, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Regarding this TFD, I'm curious if you can explain why No consensus? It seemed like a clear WP:SNOW Keep to me (the non-admin)... To be clear not questioning your judgement or looking to pick a fight or anything! Just curious as to why that choice was made.... Thanks in advance! Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:53, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I see "Keep or rename", "Keep or merge", "rename", "merge", "merge and delete", "delete", and "keep", which to me means there isn't a single consensus for an outcome. For me, WP:SNOW is used to close discussions early, and doesn't apply to a TfD that has been open for over a month. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 20:57, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. Thanks for taking the time to explain. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:08, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
