Hello Pachiscool11. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Pachiscool11. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Pachiscool11|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:40, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- I am not being paid or compensated for my edits Pachiscool11 (talk) 16:46, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- If you're an employee of Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard, then you are considered a paid editor regardless of whether you are being paid to edit here.
- If you aren't an employee, then what is your association with Kohr Brothers? The fact that you wrote a promotional draft citing too many company sources suggests that you have a conflict of interest. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:43, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- I do not work for kohr bros I just enjoy their ice cream Pachiscool11 (talk) 19:08, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Also to add I did not write a promotional draft Pachiscool11 (talk) 19:11, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- I'd enjoy their frozen custard too if it was available around here. When I leaved in the DC area, I could find frozen custard easily. Here on the west coast? Nothing. Well, there's Italian gelato available, which comes close.
- It seemed promotional to me to be parroting what the company says about itself. If your intent wasn't to promote, I apologize.
- You really do need to remove that "first" assertion from your draft, though, because it's demonstrably false. This is why we avoid citing company sources. As I pointed out on the Teahouse page, Abbott's Frozen Custard was founded 15 years before Korh Brothers. Combined with the fact that eggs have been added since the 1690s (citing a book in the frozen custard article), it's impossible for Kohr Brothers to be the "first" to create or commercialize frozen custard. Maybe the first in their region. ~Anachronist (talk) 19:19, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Okay I will remove it Pachiscool11 (talk) 20:04, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- I do not work for kohr bros I just enjoy their ice cream Pachiscool11 (talk) 19:08, 25 August 2025 (UTC)

- The company sources are just location information used to infer, like using their website we can see that their locations are on coastal towns. The company website does not cite any history or product info, just locations. Pachiscool11 (talk) 20:51, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
