RIP; I didn't know him well, but we seem to have crossed paths a few times over the years and he kindly sent me a Christmas message after I'd helped him out with history-merging a couple of times. He was my favorite Wikipedian because he helped me so much over the years although I have not seen him editing for a long time. Michael helped me save several of my early articles from deletion while they were at AfD. He also helped calm me down when things got stressful between me and other editors. Rest in Peace my friend. I will always remember your enthusiasm towards films and the art of acting. Michael was a good man, charismatic with a light hearted outlook on things, and always seemed like somebody who should have been a much more high profile actor. Oh gosh! This saddens me so much. Looking at his talk page archives, it looks like we were early communicators back in 2008, and it matches well with what I recall about his friendliness.
