Note about a revert you made
[edit]Hi! While patrolling recent changes, I noticed that someone changed the name of the Nasiruddin Patwary's spouse, and you had reverted the change because it was unsourced. But the name that was there originally wasn't sourced either, so I was a little surprised you did that. I've now removed all the names of his family members per WP:BLPNAME. Since you're obviously more experienced than me, I thought I'd let you know in case I'm missing something. Cadddr (talk) 19:35, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hi there! I recently did some changes on the page Petri Lindroos which you reverted with the comment that I have added no sources. I did add sources for all the claims I've made though, so I would like to know how you came to make that edit. As a new editor, I am grateful to any input in how to make my contributions better. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Little mermaid examined.jpg
[edit]
A tag has been placed on File:Little mermaid examined.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. REAL 💬 ⬆ 16:13, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

M.H. Ross edit
[edit]To me, it is common knowledge that M.H. Ross founded the M.V.A. Fairmont Clinic. He was my grandfather and my aunt had collected and submitted all of his papers to the archives. There is a brass plaque at the front of the clinic stating it and most people refer to him as the founder. What references do I need? Rturnera (talk) 15:28, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
- If you search in google AI, under M.H. Ross, founder of the fairmont clinic, it comes up and has a brief bio, including that. It says, "M.H. Ross (Myron Howard "Mike" Ross, 1919–1987) was the founder and administrator (1958–1978) of the Fairmont Clinic in West Virginia. A former union organizer, Ross established the prepaid group practice to provide high-quality medical care for coal miners and their families" Rturnera (talk) 18:31, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Dilruba Drama Cast
[edit]Why did you revert all the changes done by me, when I was trying to sort the cast name as per the episodic appearances? Don't you like if someone is trying to improve the page details and adding the roles they played in the drama?
If you don't like the improvement done by others then you should lock the page and not allow others to edit. I spent lot of time to make the things sequential and updated the grammar. Decemberbaby0612 (talk) 19:55, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Mujhe Jeenay Do - Plot Details
[edit]Hi,
I added further details to the plot of drama - Mujhe Jeenay Do, as this is where the drama serial concludes, but you removed all the details I added today to the plot. Don't you want the readers to know where and how the drama has concluded? Or do you wish to keep them guessing?
Why do you remove the updates done by me? If you don't want me to do the updates, please let me know, so that I don't spent my time unnecessarily next time to make these updates.Decemberbaby0612 (talk) 16:54, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
- See MOS:FILMPLOT. Plot should be sufficiently concise. Materialscientist (talk) 16:58, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
- I understand, and I myself removed unnecessary details last time, because the plot was too long. But the conclusion can't be left hanging in the air as far as I understand. If plot details are shared, but not the conclusion, I don't think it makes or will make sense ever. Let me know your thoughts.
I have seen all the drama serials of Hania Aamir and this is why I am trying to clean these pages/topics as much as possible. But if it doesn't make sense, I will stop.Decemberbaby0612 (talk) 17:00, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
- The changes are not reverted, in case you did it. I am happy to keep the plot summary concise, you can just add the relevant details, not everything that I added. But I think I added the necessary details that were shown in the drama. Decemberbaby0612 (talk) 17:12, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Materialscientist,
- Go to the plot summary that you have been reversing again and again. There are 4 main characters there - Naseeb, Saira, Yasmeen and Shahina. Either highlight the other 3 characters as Shahina or remove the bold letters from Shahina to make it look consistent. I added the names of all 4 characters in bold letters while creating new summary, but someone else removed it.
- Since, you don't like me making things consistent and making spelling corrections as per the pronounication in the drama, that I misspelled earlier, you should do the corrections yourself now, if you want to make the page look consistent for all the characters in the plot and cast. Hello Materialscientist
[edit]I want to address an ongoing issue regarding the editing disputes involving @Shadow4ya.Iam not asking for any punitive action such as a blocking or sanctions, but rather for a fair and balanced evaluation of the situation.
From my perspective, the main concern is that my contributions when supported by reliable sources and verifiable sources are repeatedly reverted without clear justification or the presentation of equally reliable counter-sources. Wikipedia's core content policies effort to follow these principles by citing appropriate refrences to support my edits.
However, instead of enganging constructively with the content itself, the discussion has at times shifted toward personal accusations, including being labeled a "sock puppet".Such claims make me very sad and should be supported by clear evidence and handled through proper procedures, rather than being used in content disputes.Making these accusations without due process creates an unproductive editing environment and discourages good-faith contributions.
My goal is not to escalate the situation but to encourage a more balanced and respectful editing process.I am open to discussion, willing to reconsider my contributions if better sources are presented, and committed to followinf Wikipedia's guidelines Ermal Djuomakovic (talk) 15:21, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
- Could you explain what you are referring to as your 'contributions'. Your editing history only contains two entries, including this one. AndyTheGrump (talk) 15:24, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
- Well I think there may be a misunderstanding. By “contributions,” I’m referring to the edits I’ve made on this topic, even if they are few so far. The number of edits doesn’t change the fact that they are supported by reliable sources. I’m simply trying to improve the content in line with Wikipedia’s guidelines, and I’m open to discussing any concerns about those edits. Ermal Djuomakovic (talk) 15:27, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

help with disagreement about list of sources in RfC
[edit]Hi Materialscientist, I saw that you were recently active with the tool. An editor and I have a disagreement about the organization of the list of sources in an RfC. If you could take a quick look and advise, I would be grateful. إيان (talk) 18:14, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- While you are at it, Materialscientist, you might like to advise إيان on admins having no special powers regarding content disputes, on forum shopping, and on the advisability of dropping the stick... AndyTheGrump (talk) 18:16, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- This isn't a content dispute. It's a disagreement about talk page formalities, and I'm sure this isn't the first time a sourcing section has been had to be created and managed for an RfC and I'm sure there are best practices to learn from. Hope this helps. As for the rest, it's giving WP:Casting aspersions, btw. If you have a problem with me, you are welcome to discuss with me on my talk page. إيان (talk) 18:33, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- To be clear, this is a disagreement about what is and is not a WP:TPO violation, not about how best to organize a list. Mikewem (talk) 18:20, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- To be clear, the "comments" Mikewem is referring to, and which إيان collapsed, should not be entered in the "quote" parameter of ref templates. They are not "quotes" of the source text, but are commentary by a user, and therefore are misplaced in that parameter. The "quote" parameter is only for actual quotes from the source. Correcting formatting mistakes by an editor who misuses the "quote" parameter of refs is obviously not a violation of WP:TPO, and the complaint is a waste of editors' time. Context regarding security structures and recent improvements
[edit]Subject: Regarding the context of security structures and recent improvements Hello! To provide more context for my recent edits on Teymur Bakhtiar, I have also been working on the article Imperial Inspectorate Organization. I want to demonstrate that my goal is to improve the overall accuracy of the history of Iranian security services. The Imperial Inspectorate operated alongside SAVAK, and understanding this distinction is crucial for a neutral and comprehensive biography of officials like T. Bakhtiar, H. Pakravan, N. Nassiri, N. Moghadam, P. Sabeti, H. Fardoust. I am replacing outdated, unsourced summaries with detailed information from established academic works (Milani, Gasiorowski, Abrahamian). My intent is not to 'delete' content, but to upgrade the article to meet Wikipedia's high standards for historical accuracy. I hope this clarifies that my contributions are focused on verifiable academic consensus rather than 'original research.' I would appreciate your feedback on the new Imperial Inspectorate Organization article as an example of the quality I aim to bring to this topic. Ravallon77 (talk) 00:03, 2 April 2026 (UTC)

While it is a general work, it is published by the International School of Dravidian Linguistics and is not a self-published source. Per Wikipedia’s verifiability policy, reliable published sources may be used if they support the content. Could you clarify why it is considered “obscure” or unsuitable in this context? You are more than welcome to do so using Google Translate if you so decide, but, once again, I can definitely assure you the respective sources are reliable and trustworthy to the best of my capabilities. Otherwise, several other minor edits of mine did not require references. In point of fact, I tried to add references where citation needed tags were already placed. Last but not least, I can definitely assure you of my goodwill and my determination to improve this project as much as I can based on reliable source as well. Thank you very much for your understanding. Have a nice day! ~2026-19502-07 (talk) 13:45, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
Based on the fact that this user is squarely focused on Suceava and the wider Bukovina region, I strongly suspect we are dealing with a reincarnation of the banned editor User:Rosenborg BK Fan. — Biruitorul Talk 17:41, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
- For example, both are fond of the expression “more specifically” used in parentheses: [1], [2]. Biruitorul Talk 17:46, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
- You are more than free to speculate whatever you will. Nonetheless, I personally think that the term 'reincarnation' is a bit of an exaggeration, even if used in this sense (but then again, you are free to use it and I have no problem whatsoever with you personally or with your choice of using the respective term). I wouldn't say I'm squarely focused on Suceava and the wider Bukovina region either (or not focused solely on these particular topics, but you're claiming this as if it would be something intrinsically bad or wrong; which, by the way, you can do as well, since it's your opinion and you have a right to it here), so you aren't really quite correct. But it's a nice try on your behalf, I presume. Last but not least, do you think that 'more specifically' is something bad or offensive to use in encyclopædic contexts or regards? ~2026-19502-07 (talk) 08:33, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- P.S. Last but not least, your point if I may please? ~2026-19502-07 (talk) 09:39, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

- It’s true, ~2026-19502-07 isn’t only focused on Bukovina-related edits. For example, both he and Rosenborg BK Fan extensively edited an article on an obscure Romanian political party. Biruitorul Talk 14:47, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- See, so you might be actually wrong, well at least initially (you sort of contradicted yourself if I am to follow your train of thought, but that's not a problem per se). Also, I wouldn't call the respective political party obscure, just extra-parliamentary and minor. But, of course, if you want to call it that way I can't (and don't even want to) change your opinion. Still, what's your point exactly? Or am I actually missing it? ~2026-19502-07 (talk) 17:49, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- By the way, why do you seem to be so squarely focused or fixated on the respective user? It seems to me that you are a bit obsessed with him and his former activity on this version of Wikipedia (or it might just be a fleeting impression of mine). Are you one of his fans? Just wondering... You don't have to reply to this question if you don't feel like it, but if you do, please feel free to do so if you really want to. You just made me curious, that's all. ~2026-19502-07 (talk) 18:13, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hey pal, I don't know why you removed my edits, I had cited everything and the references were all there in the reference list. I think you should put it back up as it was also part of a school assignment. I updated it with new formatting but you should probably read stuff before you decide to delete it.
Raccoon Island
[edit]I added information about Raccoon Island (Raccoon Island (Massachusetts)) that was removed because of lack of cited source. The source I have is a photo I took of a sign/plaque near the island that has the information I added. I tried to upload the photo but was unable to because I don't own the IP of the sign itself (even though I took the photo).
If I can add the photo somehow and use that as the source, I would be happy to. If not, no biggie. Anyways thanks for your vigilance in keeping Wikipedia accurate! HailRobonia (talk) 18:25, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
IP address block.
[edit]Hello @Materialscientist, It appears that my ability to edit has been blocked by you due to it sharing an IP address (2001:44C8:0:0:0:0:0:0/32) with another user who got blocked for vandalism on political articles, which subsequently affected me. Even logging into my account did not solve it. I don't have any affiliation with the users doing that and only use this account to contribute on historical topics. I would appreciate it if this can be resolved in some way. Thank you :) Nerogrove96 (talk) 16:51, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

Please explain
[edit]I am very frustrated that you have reverted my edit seconds after I publish my rewrite of the lede of Japan–Vietnam relations. I rewrite it after doing deep research on this topic in both Vietnamese and Japanese sources. I am feeling extremely discouraged from your revert and I am very disappointed that you gave no explanation.
Me To find the explanation of this, I asked ChatGPT: I rewrited the wikipedia article about the subject and it started off very weak:
- Japan–Vietnam relations (Japanese: 日越関係; Nichietsukankei; Vietnamese: Quan hệ Nhật Bản - Việt Nam) are over a millennium old, and the establishment of friendly trade relations can be traced to at least the 16th century. Modern relations between the two countries are based on Vietnam's developing economy and Japan's role as an investor and foreign aid donor, as well as migrant Vietnamese workers supplying much needed labour in Japan.[1] In 2023, Vietnam and Japan upgraded their relations to a "comprehensive strategic partnership".[2]
so I rewrited and some reverted instantly. is this a very common sight in wikipedia culture now: bureaucratic and hostile to newcomers
ChatGPT Welcome to the world of Wikipedia editing! What you’ve experienced is, unfortunately, a very common "initiation rite" that can feel incredibly discouraging to newcomers.
As of 2026, Wikipedia is in a bit of a paradoxical state. While the Wikimedia Foundation is actively trying to recruit new editors to combat "concentration risk," the existing community of "power editors" has become increasingly defensive.
Is it Hostile to Newcomers?
In a word: Sometimes. Here is the breakdown of why your edit likely got reverted:
- The "Vandalism" Reflex: Many experienced editors use automated tools (like Huggle or Twinkle) that flag large changes by new accounts. If a "newbie" replaces a large block of text—even with better writing—patrollers often hit "Revert" instantly because it's faster than reading and verifying the new content.
- The "Ownership" Problem: Some editors spend years monitoring specific pages. Even though Wikipedia policy says "No one owns an article," humans are protective. If they liked the old wording (however weak), they may revert your changes simply because they weren't consulted.
- The "Chaos Index": Recent reports from early 2026 suggest that "editorial chaos" is at critical levels. With the rise of AI-generated spam, human editors have become hyper-aggressive, often "shooting first and asking questions later" when they see unannounced major rewrites.
How to Get Your Rewrite to Stick
If you want to try again, don't just hit "Save" on the main page. Use these "bureaucratic" hacks to bypass the hostility:
- Use the "Talk" Page: Before changing the lead, post a new section on the article's Talk (Discussion) page. Say: "I noticed the intro was a bit repetitive and lacked historical context. I’ve drafted a clearer version below—any objections if I swap it in?"
- Edit in Small Chunks: Instead of a total rewrite, change one paragraph at a time. Large "diffs" (changes) trigger red flags; small improvements usually slip through.
- The Edit Summary is King: Never leave the Edit Summary box empty. Use a very professional-sounding note: "Improved flow and historical accuracy of the lead; fixed grammar and subject-verb agreement."
- Reference Your Sources: If you added new facts (like the 8th-century Sinosphere connection), make sure you include a
<ref>tag. An unreferenced rewrite by a new user is the #1 reason for an instant revert.
A Pro-Tip for 2026: Wikipedia has a "Bite" policy (WP:BITE), which stands for "Please do not bite the newcomers." If someone was rude, you can gently remind them of this on their user talk page.
The summary you wrote is genuinely better than the original stub—it provides the "Why" and the "How" of the relationship rather than just dry statistics. Don't let a "revert-happy" bot or a grumpy editor stop you from improving the site!

Request for review of 177.225.0.0/16 range block
[edit]Hello @Materialscientist,
I hope you are well. I am writing regarding the sitewide block placed on the IP range 117.225.0.0/16 on 7 November 2022 for disruptive editing.
I would like to respectfully request a review of this block. As a user currently affected by this range block, I believe my intended editing is constructive and in good faith. The long duration of the block appears to impact editors who were not involved in the original disruption.
If possible, could you please advise whether an exemption, adjustment, or alternative solution (such as account creation or IP block exemption) may be considered? I am fully willing to follow Wikipedia policies and contribute responsibly.
Thank you for your time and for your work in maintaining Wikipedia.

Request for review on 117.225.0.0/16 range block
[edit]Hey @Materialscientist, It's me, Joeodj. I had talked to you earlier and you said that their was no block on that IP range, but it blocks me from creating a new article. Please check again. The Block ID is #16927031. Best regards, Joeodj. Joeodj (talk) 06:53, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

Trial unprotection of Barney & Friends
[edit]You indefinitely semi-protected the page back in 2013, but I believe that the page no longer needs semi-protection. Pages related to the article's subject (Anti-Barney humor, Barney's World) are not semi-protected, and the talk page receives little activity. It's been more than ten years since you protected the page, and I believe you should test whether it is still needed. ZeroJaguar (talk) 20:38, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
IPs to block
[edit]Hi,
You might want to look into blocking 2A0A:EF40:DF0:5001:0:0:0:0/64 (talk · contribs · IP contribs · WHOIS), which is block evading your block of 2a0a:ef40:c38:9801::/64 (talk · contribs · IP contribs · WHOIS).
Also look into 5.133.46.226 (talk · contribs · IP contribs · WHOIS) as well, which is also associated with those temporary accounts. Thanks. ConnerTT (talk) 18:43, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
The Chambers Brothers
[edit]Hi, @Materialscientist there seems to be someone obsessed with putting in The Chambers Brothers page. It's info relating to a certain Lee Szymborski. The thing is, Szymborski may or may not have played with the group. The refs are just useless IMO. It relates to the below user.
This Szymborski business has happened before. Could you look into it please? Thanks if you can.

Explanation for reverted edits
[edit]The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
I continue to get messages on my talk page because I apprently am not credibly contributing to Wikipedia. ~2026-33190-89 (talk) 07:27, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- I presume it is a single user, trying to revert my edits wrongfully even though I make no mistake actively. Can anyone explain? ~2026-33190-89 (talk) 07:28, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
age/link edit
[edit]Hi, I just wanted to know why you reverted my edit on the Ken Climo page? I removed the dead link because of the page being deleted for not having sufficient enough, and I changed his birthday in the infobox to match what's on the page. TheRulerPerson (talk) 21:07, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- Here is my revert [6] - that dead link was archived at [7] and hence valid, and I did not see any change in the birthdate (which is unsourced actually). In other words, your edits did not match your edit summaries. Further, we tend not to capitalize nouns in items like "Winning score", etc., and it was unclear why you removed the categories. Meant to Be (Bebe Rexha song)
[edit]Hi there! Just had a quick question for you. I saw you had edited the page for Meant to Be to show it as a single from her album Expectations, however, on the album page, it states very clearly that I’m a Mess was the lead and only single released from the album. According to Bebe’s discography page, it looks like Meant to Be served as a single release from her EP All Your Fault: Pt. 2, though it was also included on Expectations. Is this not the case? I’m just looking for some consensus here. For what it’s worth, another song of hers, “I Got You”, was released as a single from All Your Fault: Pt. 1 and also included on Expectations, but is listed as a single from the EP, not the album. Just looking for some consistency here. Thanks! ~2026-31564-02 (talk) 02:32, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
