MCU template

Hey, thanks for your edit on the template. (It probably sounds ironic, but I mean, it, lol) It actually got me thinking about a few things, and I wanted to run them by you.

Firstly, while the lede of The Avengers does say that the game had no connection to the movie, that statement is unsourced. And while the game may not have necessarily been adapting the story of Joss Whedon's film, it was supposed to act as the film's tie-in video game. Furthermore, from what I've seen, it wasn't uncommon for tie-in games during the 2000s-10s, to act as sequels/prequels or be loosely connected to their movies; this Avengers game falling in the last category. Of course, that's probably a topic that could be discussed in further detail, and hopefully once the article itself has been expanded and written properly to cover all its aspects. To my knowledge and what has been determined between other editors of MCU articles, while it was meant to coincide with the release, even though cancelled, it ultimately wasn't related at all to the film. It was just larger brand synergy. That wouldn't make it the same as the mobile game that released (which was based on/tie-into the film) or with any of the other Marvel Cinematic Universe#Video game tie-ins. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:51, 2 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There was a mobile Avengers game? Wow... But I see what you mean. I guess if something ever changes with the article for the cancelled Avengers game or the one by Ubisoft that did actually come out in 2012 (though a few months after the film's release) I can always take the discussion up with the MCU talk page.

Yes there was! That was only recently resurfaced (as in from a few months ago I believe versus recalling it back in the mid 2010s). Yes, if any more information ever comes out about the game, especially if early concepts were to have it be based on the film and then they pivoted the story, that would warrant a further discussion on how to deal with it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:51, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
