Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Dagoofybloke. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 19:29, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Established sources in Garg's article

[edit]

There are some longstanding established sources especially related to the person's name, caste background (WP:CASTEID), DoB and place of birth, selected in the article after much discussion and edits over the years abiding by various guidelines an dpolicies. Please do not remove them just because a few sources about the person's background crept out today, many of which are WP:CIRCULAR of the Wiki article itself. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:58, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Jonkie Borthakur moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Jonkie Borthakur. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Charlie (talk) 13:13, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I was editing a section and when published the edit...the page was accidentally moved to mainspace again. Apologies for that. Now i cant move it Dagoofybloke (talk) 13:41, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Copy and paste moves

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of Draft:Jonkie Borthakur by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Jonkie Borthakur. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Your submission at Articles for creation: Jonkie Borthakur (September 21)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by RangersRus was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia articleโ€”that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

If you don't mind, I was quite bold by redirecting this article as an alternative to deletion. Bearian (talk) 02:19, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

yes, redirecting it is fine. Dagoofybloke (๐Ÿฅ€) 09:12, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

PRODs of colleges affiliated to Dibrugarh University

[edit]

FYI, there is a valid WP:ATD redirect target for these at Dibrugarh University#Affiliated colleges, so I've redirected the PRODS accordingly. Ingratis (talk) 12:05, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Purang Apin

[edit]

Hello Dagoofybloke,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Purang Apin for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Purang Apin to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
