It's this year, as in right now. Am I missing something? Bearian (talk) 17:16, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
- Assuming good faith, but just a simple mistake on your part, I added other events and 4 reliable sources including AFP, and deprodded it. I'm still writing 2025 myself, so it's a common mistake. Bearian (talk) 17:45, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: National Federation of Cypriots
[edit]Hello AusLondonder, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of National Federation of Cypriots, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. asilvering (talk) 08:45, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
PRODS on 'ancient' articles
[edit]You may disagree, and I have no issue with that.
I have long held the view that an article that has survived a decent while, however poor, 'deserves' AfD rather than summary PROD deletion. I thought I'd let you know my thinking rather than decline recent PRODS, the more so since the rationale seems worthy, and the articles not so much! 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 02:00, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi there, yes I do disagree with that because it's not policy or consensus based. The PROD process still gives editors who have a genuine, credible objection to deletion and believe the article is notable the opportunity to object. Taking hundreds and hundreds of articles on non-existent "communities" to AfDs which will attract little participation seems like a major waste of time for other editors and process for the sake of process. There are hundreds of articles on similar so-called communities that have been deleted this way. Look at the history of a still-active prolific creator of such articles. Many have been deleted via PROD without their objection as they perhaps recognise these articles should never have been created. AusLondonder (talk) 02:27, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
This small suburban community shares a high school and even a Zip code (82070) with Laramie. It's an obvious redirect. (DCOI: one of my sisters and her spouse lives in Laramie.) Bearian (talk) 03:28, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- No objection to that. AusLondonder (talk) 04:39, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
I also redirected this: it's literally on the city line. Bearian (talk) 16:10, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
I redirected this to Mount Hope, West Virginia. They share a single ZIP code and are essentially one town. Bearian (talk) 23:53, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Hellyers Road Distillery
[edit]Hello AusLondonder. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Hellyers Road Distillery, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 01:48, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- No problem, it was changed a lot since nomination I was actually going to remove the tag myself. Notability not looking great but that's another issue. AusLondonder (talk) 01:50, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
BLAR'd. Bearian (talk) 17:15, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

No more redirects
[edit]I guess that I'm not allowed to make any more redirects for stubs that you Prod. It was fun communicating with you and posting silly edit summaries. "Thanks for the memories." Bearian (talk) 02:06, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry I missed replying sooner. I've gotta say we need some more good humour and collaboration on here sometimes! AusLondonder (talk) 00:07, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Guyana Chess Federation
[edit]Hi, it's possible that this organization is notable enough for an article, but obviously the current article is unsatisfactory. As an alternative to PROD, would you consider moving it to Draft space and see if we can get it into shape? MaxBrowne2 (talk) 06:59, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi there, I have no problem with it being moved to draftspace if you believe it can be worked on to remove the promo and meet WP:NORG. AusLondonder (talk) 07:15, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Much as I'd love to encourage chess in Guyana and other small struggling countries, and pretty though their website is, I can't in good conscience justify an article about chess in Guyana. Their best players could beat me, but that's not a huge achievement. MaxBrowne2 (talk) 12:38, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
Warning regarded repeated speedy deletes
[edit]Two days ago you requested speedy deletion of IPSC Kuwait under CSD A3 but the admin User:CactusWriter declined the request. Now you've requested speedy delete for the same article under CSD A7, which I've also declined b/c there is an indication of significance with the subject. DO NOT keep bringing up the same article for speedy delete after an admin declines the request. Bringing the article up for an WP:AFD is the next step to take. But repeatedly requesting speedy delete for an article is an abuse of the process.--SouthernNights (talk) 20:02, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- @SouthernNights: Thanks for your aggressive, uncollegial message. How about you work on treating other editors with respect in a collaborative environment instead of SHOUTING? A number of identical articles have been deleted under A7 in the last few days. You may feel there's a claim of significance, but other experienced editors disagree. How is it abusive to request A7, following precedent, if another, seperate CSD criteria is declined? Your edit summary at IPSC Kuwait is blatantly misleading, Speedy delete was declined two days ago by another admin, DO NOT keep trying until you get it deleted clearly suggests I simply nominated it again, whereas it was nominated for a different reason. AusLondonder (talk) 20:19, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- It's an abuse of speedy delete to bring it up again so soon another admin declined it. I was officially warning you not to do this again, hence the message. Editors sometimes attempt to abuse the speedy delete process -- if you weren't attempting to do that, then I apologize for the message. However, the simple point is that once an admin declines a speedy delete you shouldn't bring the same article up again, even under a different criteria. SouthernNights (talk) 21:16, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- Could you point to any policy or guideline that defines requesting A7 speedy deletion is abusive if A3 is found not applicable? I think your view of the CSD criteria is unduly restrictive, as seen by your rejection of A7 at Robert Gardner (executive), despite it being deleted under A7 on 11 February by an experienced editor. Keep in mind WP:CSD states "Speedy deletion is intended to reduce the time spent on deletion discussions for pages or media with no practical chance of surviving discussion". Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Robert Gardner (executive) is unanimously in favour of deletion. AusLondonder (talk) 21:46, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- When admins consider articles for speedy delete, they usually consider all CSD. I do that and I'm sure User:CactusWriter does the same. But the big point is that the speedy delete is only supposed to be used "in most obvious cases" (per the SD guidelines). If an admin discovers even an indication of importance -- not notability, but only an indication of importance -- we're not supposed to speedy delete. Yes, that is very restrictive but that's what speedy delete is. As for Robert Gardner (executive), that article wasn't previously speedy deleted. What was speedy deleted was Robert Gardner (entrepreneur), which I wasn't even aware of at the time. But when I researched Robert Gardner I discovered an "indication of importance" per the SD guidelines, so decided it was better to have it go to AfD, which through consensus does a very good job of permanently keeping non-notable articles off Wikipedia. If I was voting in the Robert Gardner AfD, I'd vote to delete b/c yes, it doesn't meet our notability guidelines. But "meeting notability guidelines" is not what is evaluated for speedy delete, it's a mere "indication of importance". SouthernNights (talk) 21:58, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

Is this stub the sort that you would propose for deleting? I might work on it, but don't want to waste my time if you are going to prod it. Bearian (talk) 07:01, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Bearian: No that looks quite different to the usual GNIS stubs, although could obviously do with better sourcing and cleanup. History looks interesting, though. Unlike many of the stubs it looks like there's something we can actually write about. Looks very different to say Sincerity, Wetzel County, West Virginia or Banner Fork Coal Company, Kentucky. AusLondonder (talk) 11:57, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you. Bearian (talk) 14:06, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Tweed Valley Adventist College, which you proposed for deletion. I have resolved the issues you stated: Article contains no content other than an infobox and location information. No sources.. Further detail is explained in my edit summary and on the template on the article talk page Talk:Tweed Valley Adventist College. Thanks! 2024 is Underway (talk) 10:16, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
- @2024 is Underway: No problem, although most of the sources are primary at the moment it's looking better. AusLondonder (talk) 11:59, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
