I was also going to file this request. There are multiple talk page discussions on how to handle this situation and material, which even extended confirmed editors are ignoring and have nearly edit warred over this leaked material. Requesting a longer timed ECP. Current requests for reduction in protection level

[edit]
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

  • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
    • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
    • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
  • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

  • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
  • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
  • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
  • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Reason: The page has been semi-protected for 6 years. I believe a trial unprotection may be in order, as it seems unlikely that the page will be vandalised. Yes I am a nerd -XCBRO172 (How could you tell?) 04:31, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page

[edit]
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

Sorry to be another peanut in the gallery here but the international response section is a real word salad. Could something like the following work?

"The attack gained international attention, and was responded to by numerous international leaders and representatives who condemned the attack. This included statements from leaders such the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, and the United States of America President Donald Trump."

I would argue that these three countries + Israel are currently the only relevant countries to this current discussion due to long-standing geopolitical alliances, and Australia being part of the Commonwealth. Random American senators or another country’s ambassador (not to Australia) is unnecessary.

Thank you! Greyhounds Sleeping (talk) 04:27, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

[edit]

Hello, I'd like to request autopatrolled rights, seeing as I've made 32 mainspace articles, none of which are stubs (I do not rate my own created pages). Thus far, I've focused on creating pages related to music, most of which pertain to WP:Albums. Thanks, Fundgy (talk) 06:10, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Quick note about Rough Trade Records soundtracks. That was meant to be a category but I forgot to add "Category:" in front, so I requested its deletion myself. Fundgy (talk) 06:17, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Done Sohom (talk) 11:17, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I was recently recommended by Aszx5000 on my talk page to apply for Autopatrolled permission. I have made about 6,700 edits and authored 88 articles and counting, which I always aim to publish at C or B class quality. I believe I have a strong understanding of relevant policy which I'm always striving to improve, and am always open to feedback and correction. Cheers! Johnson524 07:19, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

I've noticed B33tle's profilic creation of species-related pages (over 500 in the past 2 weeks), particularly beetle related pages. All of these seem excellent, and I have no doubts B33tle will do well with this permission (while also reducing the load on new page reviewers). All their contributions have been in line with the recent village pump discussion regarding their mass edits (3+ reliable sources, limiting to ~100 per day, following up with discussions on talk page), further bolstering my confidence in them. I'd also encourage them to consider Auto Wiki Browser permissions, if it would benefit them. Signed, Guessitsavis (she/they) Talk 13:24, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

Note this July 2025 request, which was originally made for their previous account BlaUser234. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 20:04, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
@B33tleMania12; I want your input here since you have community consensus to create beetle articles at a rate much higher that WAID gave very good guidance to not create at that rate with the Autopatrolled flag. I see your talk page message that you like still being patrolled but wouldn't mind patrolled if NPPers want it to happen, but I also know you're enjoying your beetle creation at the rate that VPP allowed.
Note to other admins; B33tleMania had a CCI request in October that I subsequently declined for a lack of systemic issues. I do not believe that the copyright concerns raised should impact AP consideration as B33tleMania has been very receptive to feedback and has not had any issues since. I know that ignoring copyright concerns in the last 6 months for AP is a bit IAR around perms, so I also won't be offended if an admin decides to not grant on that ground. B33tleMania is a great editor either way. :) Sennecaster (Chat) 06:24, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
Well if it means I cant add at an increased rate, I rather not be autopatrolled to be honest. Also: its a bit of a strange thing: if I am granted the autopatrolled, I am not allowed to create at that pace anymore, making it not that much of an issue to patrol my articles, since the numbers will go down dramatically :) B33tleMania12 (talk) 11:46, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
@B33tleMania12; I don't think you having AP and the consensus to create beetles at a fast rate is contradictory, but I can see how WAID's words could be taken that way - I misread that discussion myself! Feel free to disregard me there, and apologies for the confusion :) I think the risk here is low and the benefit to NPP is high, personally, so  Done. Sennecaster (Chat) 02:07, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
Ok, in that case I am totally fine with the autopatrol. I will keep making articles in the same manner. Thank you all! B33tleMania12 (talk) 14:07, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

I have made about 25 articles or so and I believe the articles I make are of a pretty high quality since all get reviewed at some point and have never been AfD'd. Nearly two months ago, I was recommended for this permission by an editor with the NPP permission who stated, "Since you appear trustworthy as an editor seems you may be in the running for autopatrolled rights any week/month from now."[1] I also believe granting me this permission will reduce the backlog for NPP permission holders since my pages will not appear on their backlog for them to need to review. Yes, I was temporarily blocked for not having edit summaries that were descriptive enough and for not being responsive on my talk page in a couple of instances. • (Non-administrator comment) Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia, @Gjb0zWxOb! I agree with @Helpful Raccoon, many of your articles, for example Regulation of cryptocurrency include quite heavy use of unreliable sources like WP:FORBESCON, which completely lack any editorial oversight. You've also had some of your articles nominated for deletion recently. I'm not an administrator, so my opinion really doesn't have any weight here, however AP is given to editors whose articles don't require any action from new page reviewers (such as myself). Definitely carry on creating articles, as on the whole, you definitely have the correct neutral writing style! Happy editing! 11WB (talk) 03:16, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
Not done, I'm not comfortable at this time with granting AP looking at your recent creations. Your latest creation is up at AFD which imo is a pretty instant disqualifier. I do recognize that the areas that you are editing are tough to get right, but that implies that having other folks provide a 2O on your creations will be a good thing for the time being. Hello there! I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. I have read and understood WP:APCRITERIA, and have understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, inter alia, biographies of living persons, copyright, verifiability, and notability. Other articles include Mamie Colvin, Turner County High School, and Nettie Johnson. I understand WP:GNG and WP:BLP better than I did when I became more prolific in 2020, and I think getting this right will save reviewers a lot of work. I don't understand why the following pages were reviewed/accepted: Dean Roy, Aarron Deliu and Succes Nic Com. Per that, based on a cursory look, I'm leaning decline. Sohom (talk) 08:16, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
(The above note was worded poorly), I find the review/accepts at Dean Roy, Aarron Deliu and Succes Nic Com to be low effort and "easy" reviews that were only done after the AFDs were initiated by other folks. I think there is a general lack of depth in the AFD participation and NPP work shown here which makes me trend towards a decline. Sohom (talk) 10:28, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

I am super active in reviewing and patrolling changes. Actively reviewing AFC now, and the reason why I apply for this access as I could help reduce the log for new pages, because many auto-confirmed articles are being created from these categories. I would focus on entertainment and India-related topics. AlphaCore talk 22:49, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights: I am in my third year as a coordinator for the military history project. Having the new page reviewer right will allow me to review and approve/decline articles for creation and new pages in this topic area in particular and help reduce the backlog in general when time permits. I have seen several new pages in military history recently that I could have reviewed and approved. I have been a Wikipedia editor for more than 15 years. I have been active in AfD, speedy deletions and PRODs in past years and some PRODS recently. I have created 134 articles, improved hundreds of other articles and have saved or helped save eight GA articles in recent years. As a coordinator, I have helped and advised several new users in improving and writing articles for the project and on requirements for higher assessments. I was very active in vandalism patrol for several years. I have a clean block record except for a 49-second mistaken block which the administrator immediately reversed after realizing that I was the user reporting the vandalism and not the vandal. Donner60 (talk) 05:36, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

  •  Done: I've approved new page reviewer and page mover permissions on a permanent basis. Donner60 is, as they have demonstrated above, experienced, competent, and trusted with coordination responsibilities for WikiProject Military History. I was shocked to learn Donner60, a fifteen year veteran of the project, had never applied for them. BusterD (talk) 03:13, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Thanks. Much appreciated. Donner60 (talk) 03:16, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

I'm quite interested at trying my hand at reviewing articles in the backlog, and have a reasonably good track record of (a lot of) copyediting, expanding stubs, and (more recently) countering vandalism. I've spent quite a bit of time reviewing various WP policies and guidelines, as well as the MOS, and try to abide by them and act in good faith as often as possible. I have a firm understanding of the principles around notability and sourcing in particular, having created a few articles myself from scratch. Blaithnaid (talk) 21:40, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

Not done Your lack of understanding that you need to provide a reason twice in only three days suggests that the tool will not be used properly. Malinaccier (talk) 14:10, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
Requests for template editor

Template editor

[edit]

I'm requesting template editor rights so that I can make changes to certain templates such as {{Symbol}} without requesting assistance. I built the fairly popular templates of {{Tweet}} and {{Pin section}} and made improvements to others. I have over 300 edits in the Template namespace, and my creation of various Wikipedia user scripts help demonstrate my technical competence. Thank you for your consideration! Standard Guidelines review:
  1. Green tickY (guideline: >1 year, applicant: 8)
  2. Green tickY (guideline: >1000 edits, applicant: ~10.5k)
  3. Green tickY (guideline: >150 template edits, applicant: ~300)
  4. Green tickY (guideline: !<6 months, applicant: 8 years)
  5. Red XN (guideline: 3 sandboxes, applicant: 2)
  6. Red XN (guideline: 5 requests, applicant: ~1)
Noting for #6 that of the three I found, one was trivial and the other is still pending. Primefac (talk) 16:07, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
Requests for temporary account IP viewer

Temporary account IP viewer

[edit]

I edit in AMPOL spaces where temporary accounts are common and establishing a lineage of users is useful, such as the multiple accounts at Emil Bove that are likely the same person. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 16:53, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

Done A friendly reminder not to reveal the underlying IP addresses in public when establishing the lineage of temporary accounts as required by policy. Cheers! – robertsky (talk) 04:32, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello! It seems my account is finally six months old (judging by the fact I've gained access to WP:TWL a few minutes ago.) I regularly combat abuse from unregistered users, and I have some experience with reporting sockpuppets at WP:SPI. TAIV access would allow me to better monitor LOUTSOCKing and detect problematic behaviors such as vote-stacking. Note: I have been blocked twice, once indefinitely, so it may be best to review those before granting. Thanks, Children Will Listen (🐄 talk, 🫘 contribs) 22:43, 13 December 2025 (UTC)

I have done plenty of AIV and NPP work in the past; given how temporary accounts have reshaped how IPs work, what with editing and talk page history/warnings now disconnected, I'll find being able to view IPs useful in order to identify longer-term abuse or intractable cases of vandalism/NOTHERE. I am a NPP and do an amount of countervandalism work. For completeness, I have this access via my Steward rights. However, my preference is for access that I intend to use for a "local" purpose to be approved and granted locally rather than relying on my global access. That is, at the moment I would only use the Steward access to view an underlying IP here if it was related to a global Steward thing. MarcGarver (talk) 13:30, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello Wikipedians! I have been editing here for over a year, with around 2,200 edits. I focus on articles related to Irish literature, Irish writers, Irish colleges, and Anglo-Irish figures. It's a specialized area, but it's important as well. I have gone through the permission criteria, and meet requirements 1-4 comfortably. The 5th one, regarding a need for the permission, I have been reverting vandalism on several pages, and can help in keeping the pages on Ireland and Anglo-Irish subjects vandalism-free.

If granted the permission, I will only use it to fight vandalism, and with full accountability. SeanBeans1981 (talk) 12:36, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

I am an editor with just under 13,000 edits and have been editing for just under 3 years now. I regular take part in countervandalism related activities and occasionally activities related to LTA and sockpuppetry. I believe that this tool will help me identify patterns of vandalism and LTA between different temporary accounts. TLJ7863 (talk) 00:56, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Returning to editing after some time away and I see that this permission is now required to view IP addresses. I tend to work in counter-vandalism, including making reports at AIV. This access would help me respond to vandalism from anonymous accounts. I understand and agree to the guidelines for using this permission. Longchess (talk) 02:07, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi there! I am requesting Temporary Account IP viewer rights as I often patrol for vandalism and I think that this permission would be helpful with the introduction of the temporary accounts. Thanks, Destinyokhiria 💬 06:49, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
