Current requests for increase in protection level

[edit]
Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Persistent disruptive editing by anonymous editor(s). livelikemusic (TALK!) 18:55, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Declined – Likely collateral damage as one or several users who are making improvements would be affected by the requested protection. Constructive edits by TAs; not a high amount of nonconstructive. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:52, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Sock-puppetry 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝 𝙴𝚙𝚒𝚙𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚢👁👄👁 (talk) 16:35, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Article has not been socked since the 6th and has not been edited since the 8th. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:48, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Edit war going back months recently, but some appear to have been going at it for years. Mostly new'ish users...so maybe EC would work for a bit?. Onorem (talk) 20:43, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Declined I'm not really sure what sides there are. It might be a better idea to contact the editors individually and invite them to work it out on the talk page, which hasn't seen any activity in over a year and a half. Daniel Case (talk) 03:41, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Persistent disruptive edits from multiple temporary accounts. Magitroopa (talk) 03:20, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

User(s) blocked: Underlying IP range (talk · contribs) blocked by Daniel Case. for a week. Daniel Case (talk) 03:51, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Ongoing disruptive edits by anonymous users, including removal of reliably sourced content. See page history for examples. Lilcytrus (talk) 03:54, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP or temporary account edits, WP:SEMI had expired and not enough since many of the vandal accounts are already old enough. Griff88 (talk) 04:29, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

[edit]
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

  • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
    • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
    • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
  • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

  • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
  • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
  • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
  • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Reason: The page has been semi-protected for 6 years. I believe a trial unprotection may be in order, as it seems unlikely that the page will be vandalised. Yes I am a nerd -XCBRO172 (How could you tell?) 04:31, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page

[edit]
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

[edit]

Hello, I'd like to request autopatrolled rights, seeing as I've made 32 mainspace articles, none of which are stubs (I do not rate my own created pages). Thus far, I've focused on creating pages related to music, most of which pertain to WP:Albums. Thanks, Fundgy (talk) 06:10, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Quick note about Rough Trade Records soundtracks. That was meant to be a category but I forgot to add "Category:" in front, so I requested its deletion myself. Fundgy (talk) 06:17, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I was recently recommended by Aszx5000 on my talk page to apply for Autopatrolled permission. I have made about 6,700 edits and authored 88 articles and counting, which I always aim to publish at C or B class quality. I believe I have a strong understanding of relevant policy which I'm always striving to improve, and am always open to feedback and correction. Cheers! Johnson524 07:19, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

(Non-administrator comment) Can't believe I missed this! @Johnson524 has 18 GAs to date and 86 total mainspace creations, of which none have been deleted. Their articles, such as Dobropillia offensive, are extremely well-written and are researched to a high standard with verifiable sources. My previous interactions with them have been positive. Their draft Draft:Durrr Burger was criticised for not meeting WP:GNG and having MOS:IN-U problems, but they took the feedback very well. I hope @Johnson524 doesn't mind me saying that I think they deserve AP! 11WB (talk) 23:21, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

I have made about 25 articles or so and I believe the articles I make are of a pretty high quality since all get reviewed at some point and have never been AfD'd. Nearly two months ago, I was recommended for this permission by an editor with the NPP permission who stated, "Since you appear trustworthy as an editor seems you may be in the running for autopatrolled rights any week/month from now."[1] I also believe granting me this permission will reduce the backlog for NPP permission holders since my pages will not appear on their backlog for them to need to review. @Gjb0zWxOb: Administrators who grant autopatrolled are typically looking for assurance that the nominee can edit independently and without oversight from new pages patrol. Could you comment on why you were blocked from mainspace earlier this year and what, if anything, you've changed about your editing since being unblocked? (Non-administrator comment) TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 17:52, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
Yes, I was temporarily blocked for not having edit summaries that were descriptive enough and for not being responsive on my talk page in a couple of instances. Since then, my edit summaries are a lot more descriptive and I respond to every inquiry on my talkpage. Gjb0zWxOb (talk) 17:58, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
I do not think that OCEAN (Bitcoin mining pool) is notable. The sources are PR/churnalism/routine coverage. However, that was six months ago. Pinging @Gjb0zWxOb. Helpful Raccoon (talk) 21:40, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
  • (Non-administrator comment) Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia, @Gjb0zWxOb! I agree with @Helpful Raccoon, many of your articles, for example Regulation of cryptocurrency include quite heavy use of unreliable sources like WP:FORBESCON, which completely lack any editorial oversight. You've also had some of your articles nominated for deletion recently. I'm not an administrator, so my opinion really doesn't have any weight here, however AP is given to editors whose articles don't require any action from new page reviewers (such as myself). Definitely carry on creating articles, as on the whole, you definitely have the correct neutral writing style! Happy editing! 11WB (talk) 03:16, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
Not done, I'm not comfortable at this time with granting AP looking at your recent creations. Your latest creation is up at AFD which imo is a pretty instant disqualifier. I do recognize that the areas that you are editing are tough to get right, but that implies that having other folks provide a 2O on your creations will be a good thing for the time being. Sohom (talk) 08:25, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello there! I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. I have read and understood WP:APCRITERIA, and have understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, inter alia, biographies of living persons, copyright, verifiability, and notability. In recent months, I have become more prolific in article creation and have been careful to ensure that my work meets content and sourcing standards. I have five successful DYK nominations, which shows my familiarity with quality requirements and review processes. Thank you. ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 08:05, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

My name is The Knowledge Pirate. I was previously known as Scorpions13256, and Scorpions1325. Since I created my first account in 2010, I have created 77 active articles. None have been deleted, and I have not had any issues brought to my attention about my articles since I started editing with this account. I have 7 DYK's, but no GA or FA's. Other articles include Mamie Colvin, Turner County High School, and Nettie Johnson. I understand WP:GNG and WP:BLP better than I did when I became more prolific in 2020, and I think getting this right will save reviewers a lot of work. Once I am done with a long-term project, I intend to create a lot more articles. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 20:32, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

(The above note was worded poorly), I find the review/accepts at Dean Roy, Aarron Deliu and Succes Nic Com to be low effort and "easy" reviews that were only done after the AFDs were initiated by other folks. I think there is a general lack of depth in the AFD participation and NPP work shown here which makes me trend towards a decline. Sohom (talk) 10:28, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

With the current backlog of unreviewed new pages, I believe I can help reduce the load by carrying out careful, policy based reviews. Thank you for your consideration. Pizza on Pineapple (Let's eat🍕) 11:02, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I'm a trial NPP and AFC reviewer and doing new page patrol requires moving some articles to draft for better improvements as they're not suitable in the main space, it will be more better if I can move articles without leaving redirects. This right would also be helpful for when I close RMs so that I don't need to request the move be performed at WP:RM/TR afterwards, as well as potentially helping out with moves there myself. I'd also like to help out a bit at RM/TR since it can have a big backlog at times, and to be able to create editnotices as well. I would like this right because it is required for many anti-vandalism scripts/programs, such as WikiShield and Huggle. This will allow me to be more efficient when reverting. Speedrunz (talk) 01:35, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

I would like rollback permissions to help quickly revert vandalism and undo unproductive edits. Hello Wikipedians! I have been editing here for over a year, with around 2,200 edits. I focus on articles related to Irish literature, Irish writers, Irish colleges, and Anglo-Irish figures. It's a specialized area, but it's important as well. I have gone through the permission criteria, and meet requirements 1-4 comfortably. The 5th one, regarding a need for the permission, I have been reverting vandalism on several pages, and can help in keeping the pages on Ireland and Anglo-Irish subjects vandalism-free.

If granted the permission, I will only use it to fight vandalism, and with full accountability. SeanBeans1981 (talk) 12:36, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
