Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.
To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.
DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...
- ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
- If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
- If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
- ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.
You may request a protection reduction below if...
- ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
- ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
- ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
- ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.
If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.
Reason: The page has been semi-protected for 6 years. I believe a trial unprotection may be in order, as it seems unlikely that the page will be vandalised. Yes I am a nerd -XCBRO172 (How could you tell?) 04:31, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here
Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.
- You may add the appropriate template (
{{Edit protected}},{{Edit template-protected}},{{Edit extended-protected}}, or{{Edit semi-protected}}) to the article's talk page if you would like to request an edit be made. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - For edit requests being made due to the editor having a conflict of interest with the article subject (see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}template should be used instead of the others listed above. - Requests to move pages that are currently move-protected should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not on this page.
- This page is not for holding discussions regarding content. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit that you wish to be performed.
Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

Autopatrolled[edit]
Hello, I'd like to request autopatrolled rights, seeing as I've made 32 mainspace articles, none of which are stubs (I do not rate my own created pages). Thus far, I've focused on creating pages related to music, most of which pertain to WP:Albums. Thanks, Fundgy (talk) 06:10, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
Hello! I was recently recommended by Aszx5000 on my talk page to apply for Autopatrolled permission. I have made about 6,700 edits and authored 88 articles and counting, which I always aim to publish at C or B class quality. I believe I have a strong understanding of relevant policy which I'm always striving to improve, and am always open to feedback and correction. Cheers! Johnson524 07:19, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
I have made about 25 articles or so and I believe the articles I make are of a pretty high quality since all get reviewed at some point and have never been AfD'd. Nearly two months ago, I was recommended for this permission by an editor with the NPP permission who stated, "Since you appear trustworthy as an editor seems you may be in the running for autopatrolled rights any week/month from now."[1] I also believe granting me this permission will reduce the backlog for NPP permission holders since my pages will not appear on their backlog for them to need to review. Hello there! I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. I have read and understood WP:APCRITERIA, and have understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, inter alia, biographies of living persons, copyright, verifiability, and notability. In recent months, I have become more prolific in article creation and have been careful to ensure that my work meets content and sourcing standards. I have five successful DYK nominations, which shows my familiarity with quality requirements and review processes. Thank you. ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 08:05, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights I would like to request new page reviewer rights to help patrol new articles and ensure they meet Wikipedia’s standards. -- Vodnir (talk) 22:30, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I am an active editor familiar with New Pages Patrolling and the relevant policies, including WP:NPP, WP:GNG, WP:BLP, and WP:RS. I regularly assess drafts and new pages for notability, sourcing, and promotional or problematic content. With the current backlog of unreviewed new pages, I believe I can help reduce the load by carrying out careful, policy based reviews. Thank you for your consideration. Page mover[edit]
Hi, I'm a trial NPP and AFC reviewer and doing new page patrol requires moving some articles to draft for better improvements as they're not suitable in the main space, it will be more better if I can move articles without leaving redirects. This right would also be helpful for when I close RMs so that I don't need to request the move be performed at WP:RM/TR afterwards, as well as potentially helping out with moves there myself. Destinyokhiria 💬 21:59, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
Hiya, I'm a frequent at WP:AFC so I think this might be helpful for moving pages over redirects with history and suppressing redirects to help reduce the admin workload with R2 and G6 deletions. I'd also like to help out a bit at RM/TR since it can have a big backlog at times, and to be able to create editnotices as well. Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights: I would like to help review pending changes to maintain accuracy and neutrality in articles. Vodnir (talk) 23:23, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
I would like to request the Pending Changes Reviewer permission. I am an extended confirmed user with over 550 edits, mainly focused on biographies, Indian politics, legislation, and sourcing from reliable secondary sources. I regularly work on semi-protected and sensitive articles and would like to help review pending edits to reduce backlog and ensure compliance with Wikipedia’s policies on neutrality, verifiability, and biographies of living persons. I am familiar with core content policies such as WP:NPOV, WP:V, WP:BLP, and WP:RS, and I will use this permission carefully and only for clearly constructive edits. دثلميح (talk) 04:06, 17 December 2025 (UTC) |

I would like this right because it is required for many anti-vandalism scripts/programs, such as WikiShield and Huggle. This will allow me to be more efficient when reverting. Speedrunz (talk) 01:35, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
I would like rollback permissions to help quickly revert vandalism and undo unproductive edits. As a pending changes reviewer, I have done this on the proactive side and am simply looking to do it on the reactive side. I have been patrolling recent changes, new articles, various wikiproject tagged pages, and more. This will simply allow me better access to do so. Docmoates (talk) 21:13, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Temporary account IP viewer[edit]
Hello Wikipedians! I have been editing here for over a year, with around 2,200 edits. I focus on articles related to Irish literature, Irish writers, Irish colleges, and Anglo-Irish figures. It's a specialized area, but it's important as well. I have gone through the permission criteria, and meet requirements 1-4 comfortably. The 5th one, regarding a need for the permission, I have been reverting vandalism on several pages, and can help in keeping the pages on Ireland and Anglo-Irish subjects vandalism-free. If granted the permission, I will only use it to fight vandalism, and with full accountability. SeanBeans1981 (talk) 12:36, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
I am an editor with just under 13,000 edits and have been editing for just under 3 years now. I regular take part in countervandalism related activities and occasionally activities related to LTA and sockpuppetry. I believe that this tool will help me identify patterns of vandalism and LTA between different temporary accounts. TLJ7863 (talk) 00:56, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
Returning to editing after some time away and I see that this permission is now required to view IP addresses. I tend to work in counter-vandalism, including making reports at AIV. This access would help me respond to vandalism from anonymous accounts. I understand and agree to the guidelines for using this permission. — Longchess (talk) 02:07, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
