Usage

Opening a single subsection

Collapsible groups and sections option

• This template includes collapsible groups/sections. When it first appears, one of these groups/sections may be set to be visible ("expanded") while the others remain hidden ("collapsed") apart from their titlebars. To achieve this, include the parameter |name where name is one of the following words that identify the groups/sections (omit any speech or quotation marks):
• • building
  • civility
  • neutrality
  • notability
  • humour
  • about

Example of the syntax to show (uncollapse) any of the subsections:

• {{Wikipedia essays|building}}
• {{Wikipedia essays|civility}}
• {{Wikipedia essays|neutrality}}
• {{Wikipedia essays|notability}}
• {{Wikipedia essays|humour}}
• {{Wikipedia essays|about}}

For example, {{Wikipedia essays|notability}} will produce:

Opening multiple subsections

To show multiple, or all of, the subsections at once, use state_n, e.g.:

• {{Wikipedia essays|state=expanded|state1=collapsed|state2=collapsed|state3=expanded|state4=collapsed|state5=collapsed|state6=collapsed}}

Parameter state controls the entire template; state1 controls the building essays; state2 controls the civility essays; state3 controls the neutrality essays; state4 controls the notability essays; state5 controls the humour essays; state6 controls the 'About essays' section. These can be set to expanded or collapsed. The above example will produce this:
