Usage
[edit]- This redirect category (rcat) template populates both Category:Redirects to systematic names and Category:Unprintworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Mainspace redirects from common names to systematic names are unsuitable for a printed version. In other words they are unprintworthy. Such redirects are likely eligible to use as a rename of the target page (see below).

- Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

- Use this rcat to tag all mainspace redirects to systematic names from more commonly used names. Rather than tagging a redirect with this rcat, consider moving its common name to the target page. Then tag the resulting redirect, which is left over from the page move, with {{R from systematic name}} (from systematic name).
