☒N Not Done: The article is in British English. The proposed changes seem to be attempting to impose a non-British diction and use of punctuation on the article. We should not be changing the article's language settings, so the changes are undesirable and should not be implemented. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:18, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Chiswick Chap uh, out of curiosity, what is an example of a non-British diction? I have taken explicit care not to suggest any changes to regional variants? The Other Karma (talk) 15:33, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Gosh. British and American people (for example) often stress different words and phrases in a sentence, so things sound different and are accordingly often punctuated differently. Brits may feel comfortable with relatively little punctuation in some sentences ("For most trees the ...") where other variants of English would want to punctuate; conversely, we may use appositional phrases with paired commas that may seem unfamiliar to some folks ("Caesar, the Roman soldier and ruler, wrote that ...").
