Lead

[edit]

Spot check: Ref. 1 is good.

  • It has been a Grand Prix event every year except for 2020, when Skate Canada was forced to cancel the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Add another comma after "year"
  • The 2025 Skate Canada International is scheduled to be held 31 October – 2 November at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I noticed in the other Grand Prix articles that the information for the upcoming competition is in the history section. I don't have a preference, but I think it should be consistent.

History

[edit]

Spot check: 4 and 7 are good.

  • Ref. 3 doesn't support 1973 being the first edition.
  • Can you briefly explain when the Canadian Figure Skating Association changed its name to Skate Canada to avoid confusion?
  • Skate Canada International has been a qualifying event of the Grand Prix Series every year since, except for 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced its cancellation. I would add information about what specifically "forced" the cancellation– it seems like the provincial government instituted a shutdown of large gatherings due to rising cases.
  • Is there information to add about when/why the men's artistic programs, women's artistic programs, and four skating were discontinued?

Medalists and Records

[edit]

Spot check: 8, 14, 28, 35, 50, and 61 are good.

  • Add From left to right: to the caption of the image set in the Medalists section

Miscellaneous

[edit]

Based on the edit history and talk page, the article is stable. The article is also neutral. The reference layout looks good, and the references used are reliable. No copyright concerns based on Earwig's and the spot check. I have checked all of the images, and they all have proper licensing, are relevant, and have suitable captions.

Okay @Bgsu98: that is all I have. -Riley1012 (talk) 12:14, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Riley1012, I have addressed everything above except for the artistic programs/four skating. There is nothing to explain their disappearance. If I had to guess, I'd go with low participation; the last year with the artistic programs, they imposed a bunch of rules that sucked the fun out of it, so I imagine a lot of skaters were like, Why bother? Okay, fair enough. I will pass this article. -Riley1012 (talk) 20:10, 6 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
