Porphy no Nagai TabiMina and Porphyras – International title, per Nippon Animation. VenezuelanSpongeBobFan2004 (talk) 16:23, 28 July 2025 (UTC)— Relisting. Tenshi! (Talk page) 22:05, 4 August 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 23:17, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is a tricky case, since there seem to be a handful of different titles for this show, none of which are used that widely by English-language sources. For "Mina and Porphyras", I only found the Nippon Animation link and the Spotify page for the show's soundtrack. Anime News Network refers to it either as The Long Journey of Porphy, as Porphy's Long Journey, or solely by the Japanese title. "Porphy's Long Journey" appears to be used in a couple of other places, such as in Amazon listings or on the streaming service Plex. Besides the one ANN article I liked, "The Long Journey of Porphy" seems to only appear in user-generated sources.
The relevant guidance here is WP:TVFL, which instructs us to "use the title most familiar to viewers in English-speaking countries", but to fall back upon the native title if the show has not been widely released in English. Looking at that, and at the fact pattern we have re: the usage of different titles, I think a fair case could be made for either moving the article as proposed or for leaving it at the Japanese name. My inclination is to prefer keeping the article at "Porphy no Nagai Tabi", under the rationale that—due to the diversity of English titles used for the series—it will be easiest for readers to identify this show by its single, consistent Japanese name. However, if consensus emerges to move the article to an English title, "Mina and Porphyras" is probably the best option. ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 17:19, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As a side note, however the RM turns out, we'll probably want to make sure that the various titles are mentioned in the lead and that they redirect to whatever the final page title is. ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 17:19, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
