Not done: come on man ―Maltazarian (talkinvestigate) 15:15, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- What is your problem Maltazarian? Reputable news sources reported this. "Come on man" is not an argument. Magnum482 (talk) 16:21, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- No, but it's an entirely adequate response to a completely malformed request. Even setting aside the syntax warning in the diff statement, at minimum, we need a citation to a reliable source to consider adding a claim to the article. signed, Rosguill talk 19:44, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- Rosguill was kind enough to explain it already but for the record; the reason I left that as a response was because the edit request didn't contain a requested edit, making it impossible to implement (WP:SUNS), and any change that it might have been inferred to be requesting would have been a blatant WP:BLPRS violation. Should I technically have explained all of that? Perhaps, but as you can see I was more than ready to clarify if asked to, and I felt it was wiser to use the time I had to help other people with their requested edits.
⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 20:43, 29 March 2026 (UTC)- Don't disallow a suggested edit if you aren't willing to explain why. If you don't want to explain why then don't respond. Your condescending attitude is toxic to the platform. ~2026-27805-34 (talk) 21:17, 7 May 2026 (UTC)
Photo
[edit]I feel like this portrait (or at least a crop of it) would bode well with the article.
Stephen Sarsalari (talk) 02:48, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
- I think it is too small. But I wouldn't remove it if someone added it to the article. Lova Falk (talk) 15:50, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
- It’s not small. It’s only that size because I used the gallery feature on this discussion. Stephen Sarsalari (talk) 17:49, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
- I vote in favor of using this image (or a version of it) for the lead. Emiya1980 (talk) 10:03, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- Support: The proposed photo would bode well with the article rather than one with his head turned away from the camera. TPolitics1000 (talk) 12:39, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose as confirmed with Google's SynthID it is AI-generated. There is no reason not to use a real photograph. But even if a real photograph did not exist, a generative AI depiction of the man might as well have no relation to reality. 🔥Komonzia (message) 21:37, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
"Leg amputation" / Other injuries
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/23/world/middleeast/iran-new-leadership-generals.html
As per reports from four officials in Khamenei's circle, and as reported in the New York Times article, Mojtaba Khamenei is "awaiting a prosthetic leg" which possibly implies an amputation has happened during one of the operations on his leg, or at the very least, that an amputation is being prepared for.
The article further details his injuries, stating that he has suffered burns to his face and lips and will require plastic surgery.
This information should be included in the section relating to his health as other insider sources have been included. ~2026-15322-20 (talk) 21:33, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Edit request: link Jaber Rajabi

Please link the existing article Jaber Rajabi at the first mention of his name in the article.
Current text: The Independent quoted Jaber Rajabi, a former classmate of Khamenei and foreign policy adviser to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as saying that Khamenei is more ruthless than his father and "a better liar".
Suggested text: The Independent quoted Jaber Rajabi, a former classmate of Khamenei and foreign policy adviser to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as saying that Khamenei is more ruthless than his father and "a better liar".
This is a narrow navigation edit only; it does not change the article’s wording or sourcing. AtlasNotes11 (talk) 17:28, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
Khamenei’s childhood
[edit]In the article it mentions that Mojtaba Khamenei spent 7 years in the Kurdish cities Sardasht and Mahabd but I can’t find any source that confirms this? ~2026-32152-76 (talk) 22:28, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
Done Thank you for catching that! I changed the text. Lova Falk (talk) 06:53, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
Modifying the "Infobox"
[edit]Hello,
- In the "Information Box", the section "Vakil of the Supreme Leader of Iran" should be removed, because this position is not a government position in the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran and such a position does not exist in either the political laws or the religious governance structure of Iran. In fact, this is not a government or political position and he acted as the eyes and ears of his father and the initial explanation of the article on this issue is sufficient and there is no need to include this in the "Information Box".
- The "Nickname(s)" section should also be removed because this section is for writing famous and common "Nickname(s)" of people, not names that an anonymous media outlet reposts.
- The titles "Hujjat al-Islam" and "Ayatollah" should both be removed from the information box because there is a dispute about it, with the Iranian regime saying he has reached the status of "Ayatollah" and opponents of the Iranian regime saying he is "Hujjat al-Islam".
- The signature attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei also does not belong to him; according to the website khamenei.ir and the response that Mojtaba Khamenei himself gave to the letter from the Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah, the signature is different.
Thank you for your attention.CaesarIran (talk) 13:43, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Lova Falk (talk · contribs), I would appreciate it if you have the opportunity to review my request. CaesarIran (talk) 14:08, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi CaesarIran, thank you for pinging me. However, I rarely edit Infoboxes, and furthermore I cannot open the one source you give, and without sources I have no way of knowing if your suggestions are good or not. So I propose that you find accessible, preferably English-language sources, and then create an official edit request, and sooner or later another editor will see this request and decides what to do with it. Friendly, Lova Falk (talk) 14:20, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
Update his injuries
[edit]Article keeps mentioning "minor injuries", but new information reveals that his leg almost had to be amputated:

in the nickname(s) part of the infobox, it says "phantom of theran" which is likely a misspelling. the word "Theran" should be changed to "Tehran". SpaDc111 (talk) 17:36, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks, I have simply removed it. A single article is hardly enough weight anyways. Slomo666 (talk) 21:10, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
