Change to past tense
[edit]You can't play CSGO by normal means anymore (and it was technically an online service) OptimizeAllTheThings (talk) 11:19, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- Still playable on consoles. IceWelder [✉] 17:02, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- This, as well as the fact community servers are still online. The game is still a launch option for CS2. λ NegativeMP1 18:10, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- This is now incorrect, the ingame server browser no longer shows CS:GO servers and Valve have said they are unlikely to fix this issue. External third party server browser websites do exist but are not accessible from within the game like the official server browser is.
- It is confusing to readers not to make this distinction as they will believe they can load up the legacy version of CS:GO and find servers ingame. When they see none, they will believe none are available. DunnyWasTaken (talk) 11:59, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- Well, the game is still playable on Xbox 360 technically, so it keeps the current tense. λ NegativeMP1 16:20, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not talking about the past tense. I'm talking about community servers and incorrect lines in the article like
- "The PC version of Global Offensive also supports private dedicated servers that players may connect to through the community server menu in-game."
- "Counter-Strike 2 replaced Global Offensive in Steam, but it remains possible to play Global Offensive on community servers by selecting an older build version in a Steam configuration panel."
- These lines are now outdated, misleading to readers and require tweaking. Informing readers that it is no longer possible to find community servers directly in-game without external server browsers is vital. DunnyWasTaken (talk) 16:56, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
