AOTI was identified by the Washington Library Association (WLA) in their journal Alki as the first such publicly accessible archive of UFO and paranormal research materials as "a primary focus".[4]:17

That source:

Rice University’s Archives was the first publicly accessible archive to make it a primary focus.

@Guerreroast: forgive a dumb question, but what do you mean Given the verifibility needed for 'first hooks' in this context? I thought that WLA quote was pretty much air-tight? — Very Polite Person (talk/contribs) 00:33, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good point. I'm fine with either alt in that case. — Very Polite Person (talk/contribs) 17:22, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I was also going to add that the source is entirely focused (AFAICS) on North American archives, you can't run a hook on a global encyclopedia claiming something to be a first that might only apply in North America. @Guerreroast: are you doing a full review or shall I go ahead? @DrThneed: go ahead and review it. Roast (talk) 22:01, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DrThneed: I guess let's pitch/go for ALT1 if you agree? -->

ALT1: "... that the Archives of the Impossible is a library collection primarily focused on UFOs and paranormal research?"

Thanks guys. — Very Polite Person (talk/contribs) 22:21, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: @Very Polite Person: Article created 29 Oct, nominated same day. First sentence "began by" reads wrong to me, think it should be "begun by". Or just replace with "founded by"! 12% Earwig score is based on quotes and title of the Archive, so no copyvio concerns.

Approving ALT1 as per the discussion above. DrThneed (talk) 22:38, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
