Description of suggested change:

On 29 October 2024 CNN issued an apology after Ryan James Girdusky, a conservative commentator and panelist on its NewsNight program the day before made derogatory comments to fellow panelist, reporter and former host on MSNBC Mehdi Hasan. Girdusky told Hasan "Well, I hope your beeper doesn't go off" during a live discussion in an apparent reference to the Israeli targeting of Hezbollah fighters in Lenanon with exploding pagers. Hasan turned to host Abby Phillip and questioned "Did your guest just say I should be killed on live TV?". After a commercial break Girdusky had been removed from the program and Phillip issued a live apology to Hasan and a subsequent statement from CNN stated there was zero room for racism, Girdusky later tweeted in outrage claiming that it had been a joke.[

CHANGED_TEXT

what does this has to to do with "Anti-Palestinianism". Mehdi Hasan is not a Palestinian, nor is Girdusky! Pager incident happened in Lebanon , related to Hezbollah fighters, none of them were Palestinians in any sense.

This whole section whould be removed from this article. Yes, it could be placed in articles about Hasan, Girdusky and about pagers, but not here!

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit extended-protected}} template. Fortuna, imperatrix 11:51, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've got to say, this website is really funny. This is a C-rank article? Basically fake news trash but on wikipedia? And you're not going to do anything about it, because it's protected? Protected from what exactly? Any change to this trash would be worthwhile. This is actually laughable ~2025-35764-30 (talk) 10:41, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Partly done I fixed the minor spelling errors. @Fortuna, please notice that non-extended-confirmed editors can only do edit requests, which means they cannot search consensus. And @Iluzalsipal, you'll need to make 324 more edits and then you can try to find consensus for this change. Friendly, Lova Falk (talk) 17:04, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Fortuna imperatrix mundi, @Lova Falk: I have extended-confirmed status now, how do I find consensus for this change? Iluzalsipal (talk) 10:47, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
First of all Iluzalsipal, congratulations on your extended-confirmed status! As far as I know, there are no official procedures for gaining consensus. You simply start a new section, and there you describe as clearly as possible which old text you want to exchange for which new text, next you motivate your proposal. Now either a discussion follows and you'll find if there is consensus or not, or nobody replies, you wait four-five days, and then you are bold and perform your edit. Lova Falk (talk) 10:59, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Iluzalsipal (talk) 11:02, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think you should just go ahead and do it Iluzalsipal. It seems totally uncontroversial. I’m embarrassed that neither I or anybody else noticed your reasonable request and just acted on it before. BobFromBrockley (talk) 12:23, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would also have supported your proposed change (but I felt to unsure too do it by myself). There! Here is your consensus, Iluzalsipal! Lova Falk (talk) 13:28, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed changes in "Germany" section

[edit]

Change from:

> Germany banned the display of a number of Palestinian symbols such as the Palestinian flag and the keffiyeh, including at schools.

To:

> The Berlin senate administration has granted schools in the capital the power to ban a number of Palestinian symbols, such as the Palestinian flag and the keffiyeh.

Reasons as given in the section above, ping @XTheBedrockX

Additionally, change:

> Germany's Social Democratic Party and Christian Democratic Union Party issued a directive for the distribution of leaflets in high schools in Neukölln that dismissed the historical realities of the Nakba as "myth".

To:

> The Neukölln [sic] district council of Berlin passed a motion advocating for the use of brochures in high schools that dismissed the historical realities of the Nakba as "myth".

The current state of the article makes it seem like this directive was issued by the state(Bund)-level parties, and the distribution was mandatory for the schools, which is both not the case. The taz even considers the directive to be "wholly symbolic politics". One might probably also keep the involvement of SPD and CDU, but I'm not that knowledgeable about the Berlin local political system to exactly grasp what the relation between "Bezirksverordnetenversammlung" and "Bezirksamt" is.

The second statement in the original form also appears in Nakba denial, and appeared previously in Germany–Palestine relations. Iluzalsipal (talk) 11:40, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ramsis Kilani

[edit]

The current section on Kilani (in the Germany section) is extremly biased. One source used is a statement published by Kilani himself [9], the other source is an article by the revolutionary socialist magazine "Left Voice"[10]. The latter appears to be quite unobjective and pushing its own POV. Evidence of this is for example its framing of the party "Die Linke", which has actually gained many parlamentary members and supporters after the split of the BSW group, as supposedly dying, as well as of the terminally centrist Der Tagesspiegel as "right-wing media" and the accusations as a "smear campaign". The article also calls for forming an "united front" as revolutionary alternative to "Die Linke". To be honest, this source is really unusable here.

Kilani is accused of glorifying Hamas (he said "[they hold] heroically self-sacrificing the last line [for] Gaza's self-defense")[11], he also published a post on Oct 7 2023 (!) calling the attack "a reaction to year-long violent suppression" and the hostage-taking "the only solution for freeing the prisoners"[12]. There are no sources, especially no indepent and reliable sources, explicitely calling his removal a result of anti-palestinianism, so this section really does not belong in this article. Iluzalsipal (talk) 15:56, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ping @Clemens Schmillen Iluzalsipal (talk) 15:58, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, needs rewording with better sources, or full removal. BobFromBrockley (talk) 09:44, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, so I am going to remove that section for now. Iluzalsipal (talk) 13:50, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To Wikipedia Editors and Administrators,

I am writing to formally notify you that the material published about me ( North America, Lauren Wise) in the article titled “Anti-Palestinianism during the Gaza war” is false, defamatory, and presents a real-world safety risk. The following must be removed entirely : A Montreal author Lauren Wise reportedly rammed her vehicle into the other car, which was being driven by a Tunisian woman .... Wise was reportedly dropped by her publisher after the video,

The statements referencing my name are factually incorrect in their entirety. They are not a matter of interpretation or balance — they are demonstrably false. I possess official police reports and supporting documentation that directly contradict the claims presented.

This content violates Wikipedia’s core policies, including but not limited to:

• Biographies of Living Persons (BLP) policy • Defamation policy • Verifiability requirements • No original research standards

Wikipedia policy is explicit that unsourced or falsely sourced defamatory material about living individuals must be removed immediately — not debated, balanced, or rewritten.

I am therefore demanding the immediate removal of all references to my name and related allegations from this article and any related pages.

Please treat this as a formal notice. Continued publication of false statements after notification establishes knowing republication of defamatory material.

I request written confirmation once the material has been removed.

Respectfully submitted, Lauren Wise ~2026-78061-2 (talk) 17:47, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want made. The listed source seems to support the current content of the article, so you will need to provide another source claiming otherwise to justify its removal. {{GearsDatapack|talk|contribs}} 19:38, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@GearsDatapack: You're right on the latter part, but according to Wikipedia:BLPCRIME, I would definitely at least anonymize the incident and remove some personal detail, since the person has afaik not been convicted and is not a public figure (and this content is not really adding useful information to the article). Iluzalsipal (talk) 17:35, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to edit it that way if you want, I was just responding to this specific edit request. {{GearsDatapack|talk|contribs}} 19:19, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-Palestinianism during the Gaza warAnti-Palestinian racism during the Gaza war – There was a recent-ish slightly messy but conclusive RM that supported moving anti-Palestinianism to anti-Palestinian racism. I have no personal opinion on which title is preferrable for the aforementioned article, but it seems to logically follow that this article should use the same terminology. — An anonymous username, not my real name 04:43, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
