WP encyclopedic Manual of style must be maintained

[edit]

Sentences in the section on Contemporary African Art, such as "Collection of Contemporary Art has gone a long way to counter many of the myths and prejudices that haunt Contemporary African Art." or "The appointment of Nigerian Okwui Enwezor as artistic director of Documenta 11 and his African-centred vision of art propelled the careers of African artists onto the international stage." do not correspond to WP encyclopedic style. I have just changed these and other texts, but more needs to be rewritten. Munfarid1 (talk) 10:51, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Likely AI-generated text

[edit]

Hi - I've added the AI-generated tag here. I have not checked all edits -- and have not checked the student edits -- but this change by MrMonkEdits displays a lot of indicators of LLM use, particularly editorializing/synthesis, and may contain deeper hallucination issues. (The user's other edits are also seemingly AI). Gnomingstuff (talk) 15:09, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed; the sources added in that edit seem to have been completely hallucinated. I've reverted that section to what it was before that linked edit, and removed the maint tag. If there are more suspected LLM sections that I missed someone can feel free to add back the tag. (Preferably with listing what the remaining problems are here.) There's also the bulleted list with bold "headers" that is distractingly non-MOS in the "Influence on Western art" section. T3h 1337 b0y 06:19, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
