Denis Lyle Rathbone (30 May 1912 – 1990) was an English track and field athlete who competed in the 1934 British Empire Games.
Biography
[edit]Rathbone was born in Liverpool, England and was educated at Marlborough College and studied at Trinity College, Cambridge.[1] Because he attended Cambridge he was a member of the Achilles Club.[2]
He represented England at the 1934 British Empire Games[3] in London, where he competed in the 220 yards and 4×440 yards relay,[4] winning a gold medal with the relay team.[5] In the 220 yards competition he was eliminated in the semi-finals.
