Coforge Limited, formerly known as NIIT Technologies Limited, is an Indian multinational information technology company based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.[4] The company provides digital transformation, consulting, and IT services to industries such as banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), travel and transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, and government.[5][6]

The company's stock trades on the Bombay Stock Exchange and on the National Stock Exchange of India under the ticker symbol COFORGE.[7][8][9]

History

Coforge was founded on 13 May 1992 as NIIT Technologies and rebranded to Coforge Limited in August 2020.[1] Between 2006 and 2015, the company expanded internationally through acquisitions and partnerships, including a UK-based insurance solutions provider in 2006 and Sabre Holdings’ Philippines Development Center in 2012.[10][9]

In April 2021, Coforge acquired 60% stake in SLK Global Solutions for 918 crore. After this acquisition, the company's employee count rose to 21,000 having inherited SLK's employee strength of 10,000.[11]

By August 2023, Baring Private Equity Asia divested its entire 70% stake in Coforge, selling it across multiple tranches beginning in October 2020.[12][13]

In May 2024, Coforge announced that it would acquire a 54% stake in Cigniti Technologies.[14]

In March 2025, it completed acquisitions of US-based Rythmos and Australia-based TMLabs to enhance its cloud engineering, data, and ServiceNow ecosystem services.[15] That same year, Coforge signed a $1.56 billion, 13-year agreement with Sabre Corporation to deliver AI-enabled travel solutions.[16]

In December 2025, the company launched an agentic AI platform EvolveOps.AI.[17] It also launched Data Cosmos, a cloud-native data engineering and advanced analytics platform.[18]

Acquisition of Encora

In December 2025, Coforge announced the acquisition of Encora, a data analytics and digital engineering company based in Silicon Valley, Northern California.[19] The acquition is completed in April 2026 for $2.5 billion.[20]

Coforge employs over 32,483 technology & business process professionals and presence across 25 countries.[21][22] It provides digital, technology, and consulting services, including: Digital Engineering: Application development, modernization, and integration. Cloud & Infrastructure: Cloud migration, infrastructure management, and automation. Data & AI: Generative AI platforms Quasar and Orion, AI-powered software development, and dispute management solutions.[23][24]

Global Presence

Coforge operates 33 global delivery centers and offices in more than 25 countries, with major hubs in India, the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, and continental Europe. The company has expanded its role in global capability centers (GCCs), partnering with enterprises to set up and manage offshore and nearshore delivery models.[25][26]

CSR and Sustainability

Coforge’s corporate social responsibility initiatives focus on education, environmental sustainability, and community development. Its 'Shiksha' program, in partnership with NIIT Foundation, trains over 5,000 underprivileged youth annually in IT and employability skills.[27] The company sponsored the restoration of Neknampur Lake, a 98-acre water body in Telangana, and established free public libraries in Noida and Gurgaon.[28] The Gurgaon library, opened in 2024, offers a dedicated community space with over 5,000 books, digital learning resources, and reading programs, aimed at promoting literacy and providing free access to knowledge in a calm, accessible environment.[29]
